Enjoyed his playing - makes really good musically choices. Out of this pool, not surprised of the outcome. 👍🏾
ОтветитьShould do a shootout like this and add hammond products to the mix as well
ОтветитьBlindfolded ?? lol, any pro can tell the brand just by the feel and action of the keys...
ОтветитьYamaha reface got the coolest sound for me :)
ОтветитьMissing the VST Vintage Organs, B3 x Arturia and B5 Acoustic Samples vs Keyboards of this video??????
ОтветитьHow come there’s no Hammond SK 1
ОтветитьSorry guys. First and 3rd
Not First and “ferd”!
C’mon Man.
Imagine not doing a Roland Chorus, shame on you!
ОтветитьI agree on the Nord. Sneaks by with the best sound of the bunch, but the action on them is too heavy/springy versus most real hammonds.
ОтветитьI still have my Korg CX3 and still have yet to find anything that sounds as good. Awesome video. That Nord sounds pretty good.
ОтветитьI'm glad its Nord..I now know it was money well spent.
ОтветитьProbably the YC should have been played through a separate controller keyboard also.
One fault it has is the Percussion also goes through the Vibrato (distance from owning one the way got it for the Non-Hammond sounds (mainly). Although use it in conjunction with a Voce V-5 with a worn out Percussion switch. The C-5 goes through a Leslie and both are on a Stereo expression pedal.
The Leslie effect on that first module had too much of a giggle sound to it.
ОтветитьOn the Nord keyboards, I prefer the "Virtual" Drawbars to the real thing, because of the "Blind" registration problem. An expensive fix for this will be having feeder servos like the ones on a mixing console work the controls mechanically in addition to changing the sounds.
ОтветитьOne thing that should be an added feature to the sis is play each unit through an actual Leslie cabinet in addition to separately evaluating their simulation of it
ОтветитьA guy continually adjusting while the blindfolded gent is trying to evaluate. Doesn't seem right. Adjuster guy never tells the player I'm adjusting this...
ОтветитьI traded my 1971 Hammond B3 for a Nord C2D because it's a bit lighter to carry and sounds better
Ответитьmy only complaint about the Nord is the Leslie is not spread enough left to right sounds very mono compared to the Yamaha
ОтветитьYou guys should have put the Mojo 61 on the table. It would have blown all 5 out of the water....
ОтветитьI wish you had a Hammond XK-4 on hand to compare to these keyboards.
ОтветитьI would put down good money that if you had the VOX continental re-issue it would knock it all out of the park. Imho it's the last organ you'll ever need
ОтветитьWhy didn't you include the VOX?
ОтветитьThat was amazing!!! Truly enjoyed this video!
ОтветитьLike more of these; the black guy is very good. And realy knows his stuff. Very enjoyable video. Thanks guys
ОтветитьIt could have been better if you also had tested any of the Korg keyboards.
ОтветитьI like Mike 😃
ОтветитьThe reface sounded more funky and 60's. I have the Roland VR-09 it's a bit fickle, the distortion is hard to get right. Too bad they didn't try the chorus , because the chorus is great. It also has a lot of cool features like reverb crash effect, bleed, key click, and tone wheel brake. The effects are pretty good but hard to control. They didn't really go through the features of these organs, so it's not enough to change my mind, but I would love the Nord.
ОтветитьThere apparently is not a MAG P2 in the store.
ОтветитьMike is such a nice and knowledgeable guy, and a phenomenal player! Enjoyed all three blindfold vids a lot :)
ОтветитьToo bad they didn´t play the HX3/UHL/MAG organs (same engiine in alll three) as they bkow everything out of the water
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьWould have liked to see a Crumar Mojo and Viscount in the shoot-out.
ОтветитьI love the blindfold test concept and Mike’s playing is great but as acknowledged at the end it’s all a bit meaningless without a Hammond SKPro or similar in the line up.
ОтветитьWhere's the Hammond?!! (Elephant not in the room!)
ОтветитьHe hits too many keys at once to get the right impression of the organ sound.
ОтветитьReally nice shootout. I’ve owned or played all of these myself, so it’s nice to hear someone else’s thoughts.
The Reface I really wanted to like, but can’t stand the Leslie sound tbh. I thought the vr-09 could sound really really good, but didn’t really like the keys. I am using Crumar / GSI stuff now, and I like it more than anything else.
In my opinion, I think the blindfold test is BS and i will tell you why ,as a keyboard player if you play the Nord YC Yamaha, you know how they feel. And I mean no disrespect
ОтветитьThis man is really playing that keyboard.
ОтветитьI'm so freaking frustrated with this video I don't kno what 2do, I really wished this guy could've played the vro9 & custom edited the leslie, the out come would've been way different, the vro9 edited correctly is a BEAST,!
ОтветитьVery cool. Thank you.
ОтветитьGreat video. Where is the XK5?
ОтветитьThis was a really well conceived test.
ОтветитьI have the Roland, its a quarter the price of the Nord and a third of the Yamaha and for me does a very good hands on recreation of vintage keyboards, if i had the money maybe i would go for Nord, but its close to 2 grand....
ОтветитьMy first instrument when I was 10 years old was organ, that was 55 years ago. What is a "good" Hammond sound? They all sound like Hammonds to me, even my Casio WK7600 with its physical drawbars. Just spend $450 US and buy the Casio.
ОтветитьNeed to bring back the 10 point scale as Mike is playing through these.
ОтветитьShamelessly Korg and Hammond were left out. I still think the old Korgs did the rotary speaker the best: variable VC/DC speed via aftertouch and slider, good panning, volume swells on the pans, variable high and low freq speeds, plus the dirt and OD you can impart was superior to most of the straight auto pan that has been traditionally used.
ОтветитьI’m a keyboard player, and I absolutely love these blindfold shootouts, because as it happens, I myself am totally blind. So as I’m listening, I’m able to play along and pick my favourite sound, just as the tester is doing with the blindfold. I appreciate the detailed verbal description you give the tester (I believe his name is Mike), as to where Middle C is and where the keyboard is. This is very helpful when assisting someone like myself who is totally blind. I’m not quite done listening to the video, but so far between the first and second organ sound, I like the second one better. Now to keep listening! :) I wish I was closer to you guys so that I could participate in one of these blindfold shootouts… except I wouldn’t need the blindfold LOL! :) Too bad I’m so far away! :( Anyway, could you please do one with electric piano sounds? Specifically the Rhodes and the Wurlitzers? Thank you so much and keep up the awesome work!
ОтветитьHOW IS IT THAT NO ONE CAN BEAT A NORD SAMPLE FOR ORGAN AND PIANO? YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT SOMEONE WOULD HAVE COME CLOSE BY NOW.🤔🤨
ОтветитьWHAT NOT MONTAGE M?
