COURSE OUTLINE:
Week 1 - Sentence Openers. We look at different ways to start sentences to add flair and variety to children's writing.
Week 2 & 3 - We look at literary devices such as simile, personification, alliteration. metaphor and onomatopoeia.
Week 4 - Learn the PARCVANS game! Use focused short bursts of writing to become laser focused and speed up your progress quickly.
Week 5 - How to create mood in your writing. How to write the perfect opening using a mood recipe.
Week 6 - Planning your stories and how to end our stories cleverly. We look at these ending types: happy, sad, twist, cliffhanger, flash forward.
Week 7 & 8 - Putting it all together. We write and plan stories together and go through the whole writing process from start to finish. The children see a story written before their very eyes - twice!
