I am a hardcore wow player. Been playing since it launched. I just started playing GW2 a few days ago, and I already like it more. I had that same feeling with the wsad keys. I’m playing a human Mesmer. Trying to get hero points to unlock an elite specialization. This game just “feels” chill. It’s hard to explain, but I don’t feel pressured to do one thing over the other. Everything is rewarding and interesting.

One of the few MMO's that respects player's time and one of my favorite, if not my favorite MMO. I recently stopped playing WoW's Dragonflight to return to my baby, GW 2. The community on this game is the best around. PERIOD.

They put resource back into GW as they know where that money is at lol

TBH, I have tried GW2 up to the POF expansion. I really don't quite enjoy it as much as WOW. I have clear objectives and missions and leveling progress in WOW, but for GW2 I have no idea what to do. Also, when fighting mobs / bosses I'm still confused about which are the good AOE by players and which are the bad ones to avoid. WOW with it addons are doing a much better jobs in warning players during instance and raids. IN GW2, I see so many different colors and rings on the ground and totally have no idea what is what. Just ridiculous. If WOW has a free subscriptions like GW2, I bet WOW will have much more players than now.

The story and music get even better once you get out of the core story and that side by side stuff goes away.

the one thing that stopped me from playing, was a certain achievement requirement to unlock the dragon mount, i had to kill a "open world boss" that spawned in a certain 80 level area.. somewhere deserty.. and well, me being a strictly solo player (i have no one to play with and guild i was in wouldn't help me) i couldn't solo the boss, my gear wasn't strong enough and couldn't get stronger gear.. and after days of trying, i gave up.

It's been about 2 years now, maybe 3 years. I do miss this game, no idea of the state of the server i was on and no idea what servers are best for australian players. All i know is.. i want to play again, even if it mean i'll once again be stuck playing solo being alone for 99% of the time (world vs world / server vs server i adore), i want to go in again, but i feel lost.

You dont play with combat mode enabled ? Makes it such a different experience. :o

Once it got to the point where I could make a max level character by using 50g on cooking mars I couldn't bring myself to keep playing this anymore...

Christ, this is what all GW2 fans do. They hype up every single thing they can find to the point where it's just ridiculous.
The character creation is simply fantastic? Is it? It's not, it's barebones, you're just looking at a pretty picture and claiming it's part of the character creation process.
The races are interesting? It's humans, elves, dwarves, furries and big humans, just like every other MMO.

I swear, GW2 is just a population of mentally ill people.

12 and a half minutes in for you to actually reach the first mention of gameplay?

This is exactly what I mean. Players will just go on and on "Oh, jumping puzzles, oh collect mounts, oh collect gear to style your character!" It's all just meaninglessness for most people yet it's all that GW2 has to offer, excepting for action combat.

Love how he just straight up pretended that Humans in GW2 are a banal normal race like in any other game. UHM THEY'RE ALIENS.

After playing years and years of World of Warcraft, I put it down after the Blizzard drama and had a hard time investing into another MMO. I stumbled across GW2 from the Steam release and it is probably my favorite MMO of all time.

I want to get started on an MMO and I think this might be the one.

Guild wars 2 shipped without the guild wars. Yep. That's what killed it for me.

Just started playing it and I'm blown away, the creativity is astounding, every difference from other games is a plus, it's so clever. The play style encourages a fantastic community. Really impressed.

Fantastic game, never gets the true love it deserves.

What's interesting is that I just recently deleted this game from my hard drive again for about the fifth time. I come back to it occasionally, but it just can't capture me for very long.

Been a GW2 player since beta, but I must say that I enjoyed watching this. Your presentation was easy to follow amd listenj to evem thpugh i am a longtime player.

I have to love the way ppl outside of GW2 speaks about living world season 5 as if it was the greatest ever thing to happen... little do they know that LWS 5 the lowest point in GW2 story telling point, they kill 2 of the most important elder dragons on that one, and it was boring, incomplete and unfinish trash.

Started my first pg a few weeks ago and now im at lvl 80, the best thing is that everytime i have a question and ask it in game there’s always that one guy free to answer it. Most of the times when preparing for world bosses. It’s just wholesome

I love how their branching dungeon design is currently being copied into FFXIV's Variant Dungeons. FFXIV's FATE system a cutdown version of GW2's dynamic event system.

I played this game over the last week or so and honestly I just don't see the reason to play it over other mmos;
wvw felt like I was playing an in development prototype version of ESO's Cyrodiil, and the entire time I tried it, I just wanted to go back and play Cyrodiil.
I couldn't ever find a class I liked, each class was just such a specific 'thing' instead of being a vague theme I could morph into something that was my own
the game feels way too damn floaty and autoattack feels like shit
and tbh hot take but elite specs should be available far before max level

if it only had improved graphics up to 2020 standards, it would be amazing but sadly just like FF14 or WoW the graphics are stuck in the early 2012.

Ive been playing gw2 on and off since release. Instant re download after seeing this video. 😀 everytime when playing other mmorpgs I wanna get back in to gw2.

After dipping my toes on GW 2 back in 2013 and then stopping because of life changes, I took the chance and dove right back in a few weeks ago, and now I'm hooked again. As impressive this game was 10 years ago, the improvements have really driven the game into something that can almost be called the perfect MMO, for me at least.

I played it from the beginning. But at some point i leaved it. Because i think there was a change in arenanet staff after a year or two can't remember exactly. Then the game turned in a hole different direction than what was promised. That was a huge turn down for me. I played guild wars 1 from it's release and up to guild wars 2. I was a huge fan and hyped for guild wars 2 as it was announced. I have no doubt a lot find it a great game. But the big change it got, was for me really bad. They promised they would not be like other games with raids and such, and no level cap was on the table and severel other thing. The game then turned into all they said they wouldn't.

more gw2 content ?

One stand out for me is that you get xp by helping other players, healing them, resurrecting them--you don't have to be grouped, just happen upon somebody in trouble. At least, that's what I remember from several years ago. It's a beautiful game I loved it. I wish there were more time in the days so I could devote myself to WoW, ESO, and GW2 (as well as all the other single player gems, new and old)

Why “deserves better”, it already has a ton of players that are super dedicated to it and a great community. I don’t get it. Does ‘better’ mean Asmongold has to start streaming it? Does it mean it has to have 20K views on twitch? Because all those things aren’t going to make the game ‘better’, the community is already great.

As far as MMO's go, in my opinion nothing beats the feeling of old school WoW, that game was simply a phenomenon in it's glory days, but GW2 is my favorite MMO at this moment. Coincidentally, GW2 appeared around the time WoW was going to shit anyway.

This game is so incredibly brilliant in so many ways, I was always shocked at the --you said it--flabbergasting lack of marketing.

This is, in my opinion, the best MMO that's ever shipped and yet... it remains bafflingly unknown by sooooo many.
