Great video...You are obviously attracting unnecessary attention from your subjects when pointing the camera toward people. The key is to vigorously point the camera to capture the interesting subjects without lingering too long. I can tell you know which they are because you very often actively avoid them, This is more difficult with a regular camera that needs both you and the camera to align with the subject making it clear to everyone that you are focused on that subject. So how else can it be done? I've been very successful using a folding camera phone. The lens is on the outside of one half of the device and the screen is on the inside of the other half. This lets me record and view a subject located on one side of me. So you don't face your subject, in fact from everyone's point of view you just seem to be reading your email or if you put on earbuds, listening to music. You will be amazed how up close you can record with no problem just play the part and be reasonable about it. You can face out to the ocean while recording subjects on the beach etc. You will be amazed what a difference not facing your subject makes. I have sat next to subjects for extended periods looking down at my screen while recording a subject sitting next to me because everyone has their phone in their hands so I don't stand out while recording. The trick is finding a device that matches these specs and takes good quality video.
