Where are the tabs for new windows in File Explorer?

My Windows 11 looks nothing like that. There is a picture of a house and I don't know what that means. Is that quick access? If so, why doesn't it just say that. I also have "MyPC and a file with my name on it and I am so confused where to file a new document. Also, everything is filed under DESKTOP. I don't want that

Great discussion on file explorer I have one question for you under search options you can go kind folder but I have folders named Jerry Jerry documents Jerry pad and Jerry bibliography if I only want to search for Jerry I can put it in quotes but then all those others come up is there any way to just get one specific folder

Thank you for the video. Something that is no fault of yours, is the ability to have file explorer Prompt us for a location to put our downloaded file. I'd like to be able to place a downloaded file where I want it when I download it, not go into a downloaded location, than I have to cut and paste it. I'd rather it prompted me and I download it directly where I want it per file/download. Not the same location every time. Any ideas or solutions that anyone knows of? I think you didn't notice the slight delay in opening of windows explorer. Try that after disabled nvidia or AMD drivers. I'm sure you gonna cry after those results.After disabling the opening speed of files explorer is quick as hell. There is some weird bug with files explorer with external gpus.

I was hoping you would explain what influences the content of the navigation pane - which seems to me to be utterly insane (as it always has been) like a broken treeview. How are you supposed to navigate when the presentation is so arbitrary? In what way can "This PC" and "Onedrive" be leaves underneath "Desktop"? ... ans then Desktop reappears under ThisPC again Duuuh. Why is it that I have physical drives D: (DVD) and E: (raid1) pulled out for display on the top level but drives the C: (SSD) and F: (harddisk) are not? (only shown buried under "This PC"?) Why is the view polluted with "Libraries" and "Network" and "Control Panel" that I have no use for when I'm exploring? Why does it insist on showing Network even though network discovery is turned off and Show network tick box is clear. *Is this just rubbish UX design or is there some hidden concept or secret I'm missing that makes sense of it? How come this is NOT an issue for everybody? If I delete things from this view will I affect just the view or will I lose data? I'd love to know but nobody talks about it.

how can i right click and directly open up the "old contextual menu from windows 10" instead of the "new" one? Because there are more keyboard shortcut in the old menu as compare to the new one

I don't care if Microsoft changes or compacts the File Explorer. I only wish to be able to customize the view and feels of File Explorer anyway I like. MS please let us customize and theme the File Explorer, without going through the registry.

There's a bug when I double-click to rename, it highlights the entire file right away. I shouldn't have to hit the "Rename" button every time to rename.

Folder thumbnails not supporting in Windows 11. Can't see included files without opening the folder. This is the only reason for downgrading from 11 to 10 again.

i used to just
1. click the windows button on my keyboard
2. type what i was looking for in the search menu there
3. when i find what im looking for i'd right click it and select "go to folder"

this was awesome cause i could go directly to the folder of exactly what i was searching for with just a few clicks on my keyboard and mouse.

but now there's no "go to folder" option... all there is is "copy path"

This sucks cause it adds extra steps... is there a way to fix this so I can get the original? 😥
