There is a question though - is there a reason to put dirt out on the upper side of the sidewalk? i'd think that a lower one is more suitable for that - upcoming rains wont stream it back on.

Save yourself some time and get an edging attachment for a trimmer. Saves water and hassle.

This looks like very satisfying work. I wish I’d done something like this when I was younger. I’m in too much pain these days to do it now. As a woman, I never considered doing jobs like this but I wish I had. Much more rewarding than sitting at a desk all day.
