I think when they meant he “almost beat” him, was that Alastor was beating his ass the whole fight and he just ran away

With the way the show portrays Alastor and Vox’s dynamic, in that Alastor is way more composed than Vox, it gives me the impression that when Vox “almost lost” to Alastor, it wasn’t really a case that they fought evenly and Vox made it out by a hair, but that Alastor was clearly winning and just decided to spare Vox and forfeit the fight. That could just be me speculating but I think the way the characters interact with each other should be an important factor when powerscaling these two.

People keep assuming Alastor lost the first fight, but the vibe I'm getting was that Vox was losing and either people came to help him or he ran away, this is based on the line of Vox saying "A lot changed in 7 years" so he doesn't think the fight would go the same which he wouldn't feel the need to empathize had he won, Another theory i have is about Alastors control over the radio waves that mobile phones use which he may be able to use to get velvette to betray vox idk

Vox is somewhat like Raiden from Mortal Kombat in terms of some of his powers, just small this like teleport amd electricity

You forgot the fine print alastor almost beat Vox but did Vox retreat or win from alastor’s personality I think Vox ran away when they were both in bad condition.

The Pilot is canon, as Episode 1 doesnt make sense without it. Like Alastor already being part of the Hotel and such

I dont rly see any overlord beating Alastor, maybe Zestiel and that is basically it. The guy is simply op, he has access to dark magic, i dont see anyone beating that.

I highly doubt that Vox actually won against Alastor. "Almost lost" doesn't automatically imply a win, it just describes that the confrontation had Vox on the back foot. Plus, given how easily Alastor agitates Vox (even just from knowing that Alastor came back) and how Alastor instantly stole Vox's momentum during the broadcast and flipped it around, I don't see Vox managing to come out on top against Alastor

I love that the reason Alastor and Vox have their rivalry is because they have different tastes in technology. I especially love their song Stayed Gone because their rivalry is very tense and they have great singing voices.😁😈📻📺

how does Alestor destroying the blimp make him city block level? That's like saying a dude with a tank can destroy a nuclear bomb that can level a city before it explodes so that means the tank is city block level.
so long story short the blimp can destroy the city because all of the missiles and lasers but destroying the blimp doesn't put you at city block level it just a building level feat

And val can can emit either mind controlling or harmful gas/smoke and velvet well im not sure so in a 1 on 1 Alstor might win and it will be close but in a 3vs1 nahh alastor isn't winning

Can you imagine an episode where Charlie ends up on earth. The effect of seeing how souls live before they get to hell on her mind would be interesting.

I think the battle between Vox and Alastor when Alastor "almost won", was more like it was a draw, but closer on Alastor's side

I don't think when Alastor "nearly bet" Vox it means that he actually lost, because why would Vox STILL be so caught up about the ordeal? He seems like a pretty power-hungry guy, so maybe a near-loss like that would give him a grudge, but he seems super hell-bent and paranoid since Alastor arrived. imo it just sounds like they stopped fighting mid-confrontation for some reason (also, Alastor absolutely dominates him in the their song).

There’s one thing I have always wondered about.

If Alastor was strong enough to kill overnight overlords who have been dominate for centuries why didn’t he use this chance to gain control of all their territories and make himself into the ultimate overlord ruling all of pentagram city.

He could have easily destroyed Vox as soon as he manifested in hell. Why did Alastor allow the Vees to establish their own empire when he could have easily slain the new overlords. Why let an potential enemy gather so much Power.

What Valentino said about vox almost lost to alastor does not mean that he won. It's possible that Alastor might have sparred him or he escaped the fight(Looking at his reaction after valentino said that, that was not a glorious victory and vox knows that too imo). The current situation is different tough since the whole city is equipped with vox's tech now, wich potentially makes him stronger ( It seemed like he gains most of his power from people's attention or something, like he can harvest other demons energy through his devices) and he created an environment on his advantage.

Vox did not win when him and Alastor fought 7 years ago. The implication is that Alastor almost won but the fight was interrupted. Hence why Vox is visibly worried about fighting him again despite getting stronger and hence why Alastor said he would be nothing without the other Vs implying that they interrupted their last fight. If Vox had won the fight then they would have said that he barely won 7 years ago instead saying something like he almost lost which implies that he did not win either.

Just to say the way they imply that Alastor almost won seems more like vox ran away or called in the other Vs so Alastor couldn’t actually claim a win

At best for Vox, him and Alastor’s fight probably ended in a stalemate he barely survived.

One thing I wish they did was Vox was instead of him wearing a red suit. It was more of a purple one. So you can have a blue and it’s family color vs red and it’s family color.

Valentino might be the only overlord without any magical abilities,its implied he is just a really good shot (comics) and so strong he is easily able to just despine somebody in 1-2 seconds (episode 2) and most likely uses angelic bullets or weaponry. So he is gifted but lacks proper magical powers,unless his smoke is an actual power and not for symbolism or asthstics which,if its real,would give him actual mind control and long range physical contact (he touched angel with his smoke from afar in ADDICT as well as Vox in the instagram series)

Have you seen the 2 episodes legally (via early access) or via illegal leaks? If you have early access, you should have seen the Q&A and thus know that the pilot is still canon.
Also, we learn that Vox tried to team up with Alastor, but Al rejected him which may be one of the reasonst that Vox hates Al so much. Most importantly, though, is that we learned that Vox may in fact NOT be the most powerful of the Vs, as Al clearly states Vox would be nothing without the other 2.
