I was at that game. I won tickets from KGON the local radio station. Nosebleed seats, but you could walk right down to courtside back then. I stood there watching M.J. and Bird warm up. It was surreal to see all of those legends in person. Thanks KGON.

Although every Olympic team got slaughtered by the USA Dream Team, all of those defeated players can tell their children and grandchildren that they shot hoops with the best players to every be assembled.

No amount of money could get you into a game with those legends. But all of those defeated players got to play ball with what had to have seemed like time standing still. Everywhere they turned, a legend.

A front row seat was magical. But imagine actually being on the court with them.

Larry Bird was the #1 trash talker. But I suspect he did not trash talk the opponents, due to it being over the top, considering the blow out.
But I do wonder if he still gave his own team members the business, just because they all would have found it hilarious. After all, how could the #1 trash talker pass up an opportunity to slap around the greatest players to ever be assembled?

Anyone know whether or not Bird trashed talked during the Olympic games?

2023 US women's soccer team has much to learn about being a team and representing your country.

The decision to put Christian Laettner on this team gets dismissed and derided, but based on his performance in this game he could definitely hang with the superstars. I mean, it’s not like he dragged the team down or anything. He made some great positive contributions and heads up plays. Sure, the counterpoint is that there were still a lot of other NBA players who might’ve been better choices, and I agree, but the way people talk about it sometimes it sounds like they think Christian being on the team was an utter, nearly fatal mistake. Hey, the talent in the NBA was an embarrassment of riches.

Shows how good Stockton was, with his height he was able to stand out on this team. Truly an underrated PG.
