Slight plot hole, Ron has in fact mentioned his brothers before. When Leslie shot him in the head he made a joke about how every year he watches the Super Bowl with his brothers and that Leslie should come by to shoot him in the head. And then there was that one time they were at the commendation and Leslie showed up with a cool haircut and Ron said she looked like his brother in the air force.

I can't tell if Don not knowing what Ron did is him just being a private person, or Ron outright denying his involvement in government to even his family.
