I think I may have found a better technique by mistake while playing a game, as you know for RTX it uses denoising. In Minecraft RTX quickly flipping between first and third person, it has more noise as the game has not calculated all the lighting. Therefore it the denoiser has to do more work, and this looks a lot like jpg artifacts actually. So if you just add noise to the image, then run it though the same denoiser, you might be able to get a very similar effect? It is very convening just by itself, and maybe could be made better with more fine tuning
ОтветитьTHE GLITCH STUFF @ THE END IS INSANEEEEE
ОтветитьThis is exactly the good shit im here for. I wanna pour computer corruption into a cup and ingest it,.
ОтветитьThis might give me a headache but I want to see it in VR
Ответитьyou got me wanting to solo dev again, damn you!
ОтветитьThis game is gonna be awesome!!
ОтветитьThis is super interesting. The glitch art is really awesome. I can see someone using it in a very atmosperic game. Or a horror game, that would work really well too. Thanks for showing us these!
Ответитьthis game looks amazing, I haven't seen a game successfully pull off a y2k / frutiger aero theme, and it is executed beautifully!
ОтветитьWhenever I try to open the menu in the demo it closes itself
ОтветитьThe artstyle/atmosphere looks amazing
ОтветитьDepth of field, but instead of getting blurry, it loses model detail. Wait, that's just LODs.
For a serious one though, depth of field, but instead of getting blurry, it gets more hue-shifted.
Note to self
ОтветитьI really like the increased sharpness effect
ОтветитьThe jpeg effect is a high-pass, imagine taking the negative of an image, if you superpose this with the original image using half opacity, you get pure mid gray, blur the negative and you get a high pass filter of the blur radius, shift the image by one or few pixel, you get emboss, but if you pixelate bam, jpeg artifact but gray. Take the result then apply it back to original image with a screen or add, a multiply or I forgot the name of that one, bam jpeg effect on your image, blur and emboss do the sharpen filter, inverse the result and it soften...
ОтветитьCould you... do something nutty, like "instead of blurry it gets lower FPS?"
ОтветитьI went on a binge trying to read up on JPEG compression for a similar shader and I'm glad you offered a much simpler solution to do essentially the same thing.
ОтветитьGreat effects!! I like them!! Good job!!
Also good luck working on the game!!
the kaleidoscope effect kinda reminds me of windows media player visualizations, which are a y2k look all by themselves :D
