It would be good to hear your thoughts on companies making books in other countries below
ОтветитьMy daughter and I want to do a photo book together but I have what may be considered a stupid question…when shooting images we wish to print in varying sizes and for book printing, what should we be shooting in? High res? Raw? We both have a Nikon Z5. I started over 20 years ago in film so learning. To speak digital has been interesting lol.
ОтветитьLiterally you’re the best channel I’ve found for photography. 😋
ОтветитьI would like to know where you get your big inkjet prints made? 🙏🏼
Ответитьhi, may I ask where did you get your VISTA printed from? thank you
ОтветитьI don't care for the lay flat books. They look amateurish, like wedding albums. Very low rent, unless thats the look you want. Also, less is more. Multiple images on a page is too noisy and full bleeds never look good to me..too early1960s ish. But you Vista book is wonderful.
ОтветитьIf I ever have a book printed, I think I would want only one photo on each page. Anything more would be a distraction and take away attention from the photograph that I am observing. Three photos on one page makes me feel cramped.
Maybe it’s just me. Nice work by the way.
.
ОтветитьBeautiful book. How many did you print ?
ОтветитьThese books cost so much to create I found, then add a small profit it would be a minimum £75
Are there people willing to spend that on a book
Great setup and comparison with the gfx. Really good for 35mm
ОтветитьCewe is great
Ответитьwhere do you sell the moss tree print?
ОтветитьIf yo7 don’t use lightroom what’s the best other editing software for preparing for books ?
ОтветитьWhat are your thoughts for poor authors to use KDP?
ОтветитьOh man I’m late for this one. Any issues with using a high end lab like Saal D? Apparently they use silver halide printing which is good for colours but not so great for detail (when compared to inkjet). Any issues?
ОтветитьWhich company did you use for thisVistas book in the video? I use photobox for the photo printing super affordable and reliable for the delivery, but the books dont looks so good from the site.
ОтветитьTear of joy for you
ОтветитьGreat tutorial Nigel. What price do you sell them at.
ОтветитьI just discovered your incredible work!
ОтветитьI think that the lay flat pages in the Crewe would be better for double page photos than the others - ironically it looked as if it was the only book without one.
ОтветитьI'm printing my own book using inkjet printer on 270gsm paper but I'm not quite happy
ОтветитьVery pleased you have sold all your books. I guess they all have a theme.
ОтветитьHi Nigel! Thanks for your explanations. I have one question for your photobook printing workflow regarding sharpening. If I were making a single print for which I know the final size, I would use the output sharping from Lightroom directly when exporting and resizing the image. In that case I precisely know the resolution for printing so it wouldn't be a problem. But how to do this for photo books where the crop and final size is only known when composing the album? What I did so far (with one photo book) is to just export the images from Lr at full resolution and then use the printing software to handle the rest, but I feel that the sharpening could be improved. Do you have any tip for that? Thanks!
ОтветитьMy problem is the way the sites are setup. I use an iPad and alot of sites seem a bit off. It seems as if they overdue the sites. I simply want to upload a photo to each page. Also I don't want to fill out a form to simply see how it would look first. I mite not like how the website works and decide it's not for me. So I'm definitely not giving my name, address, email and so on. Which site is the easiest to use?
ОтветитьNigel, you mentioned that with Vistas you and "the printer" spent a great deal of time together getting the images right. How did that happen, what did that entail, and what was the additional cost? What did the printer's tech contribute? I assume most us are unable to access that kind of one-on-one expertise, but that apparently was important, and insight could be helpful before embarking on a project like a photo book. Thanks!
ОтветитьYou didn't say much on how much and who printed your Vista's book.
Ответитьmay I ask what kind of software that commonly used to arrange a photography book?
is there a specific software that provide may be layout or template to arrange a book?
Great video and thank you...Nigel...
ОтветитьHi Nigel,
I love your videos. What kind of dog is pebbles? We want to get one for our family dog (: Thanks!
Ciao Nigel, just ordered book from Saal :-) , square, 26 p for about 50 euros. I decided not to go for box, cause it's 30 euros more and although beautiful and worth the price, just not this time. I printed my last ' adventure' i.e. visiting classic bikes dealer in Hamburg. Photos to be seen on my website :-)
ОтветитьGlad that you speak about your impressions with full explanation why and what, cause very ofter there is no better or worse paper etc., but simply the preference. :-)
ОтветитьIDK if i missed it, but which company printed the Vistas book?
ОтветитьThe smile on your face when you opened your new book (old now in comparison but just going through all your videos for the first time) was priceless. I hope to one day make a book of my photos I have taken here in NZ
ОтветитьThis video inspired me to make my first photo book. 😆
ОтветитьI loved the transition
From Regular Nigel to Editor Nigel, that little subtle hump made my day
🥲☺️

(Grey page appears)
Nigel: “That looks good”
Absolutely lovit🌞
Great videos keep it up👍🏻
Hi, good video. One question: What company do you recommend to create a photobook? Thanks
ОтветитьI can smeel this room
ОтветитьI've seen several of your videos. They inspire me and I´ll dig deeper in them. But what really makes a difference is that you are so passionate and nice that I enjoy just looking at you while you share your knowledge. Thank you for that. Has worked as a news video photographer for almost 30 years. Leica M still photographer og getting to know Lightroom Classic and CC. Looking forward to see all your videos - and soon have a book made with my pictures. Just for my girlfriend, daughter and me :-)
Ответитьgahh i have so many id want to print
ОтветитьHello Nigel, I am a high school student in Canada, and your video gives me a lot of inspiration! I plan to create a Landscape photo book for my Capstone Project, and I love your design of the cover page. However, I have a small question: how did you emboss your texts? Again, this is a very helpful video!
ОтветитьA benefit of printed pictures is they take away your ability to go crazy pixel peeping.
ОтветитьLove your video! What company did you use for your 'Vistas' book?
ОтветитьHi Nigel, Do you have an instruction video on how to make the photo books? The Do's and Dont's when making layout choices etc.?
ОтветитьOne of the best videos regarding photobooks I have seen ! Thanks
ОтветитьCurrently learning InDesign to design the layout of my own book and also a small magazine.
It's amazing to have your own prints on something physical.
Swiping on a phone just is not the same
