So, I've got ~10TB of my photography files currently backed up to my local WD MyCloud -- but it's almost full! That will take months to fully back up entirely to BackBlaze, so my concern is that new stuff I add daily may not be backed up if it's waiting its turn for the other 10TB... Can I prioritize the new stuff for upload first, then add the older stuff and let it go up over weeks or months until the entire 10T is uploaded?

The only reason you need cloud storage is because the quality of HDDs and SSDs has dropped off the charts in the last year.

The reason HDDs and SSDs last forever in a computer you just bought off the shelf is because they don't want you returning a $2k computer. But with them changing HDDs to SMR and SSDs internal functionings and not honoring warranties, I'm surprised the Big Three still exist.

I think the only way things will change is if there's a massive lawsuit.

I recently had an ssd fail because some one accidentally spilled coffee on it, thankfully everything was backed up. I have 29TB of storage backup. Pretty sure my ISP is upset with me lol.

Great video! I am doing an Inherit right now with my new Mac Studio with around 12 Terabytes. It's been going on now for 24 hours and still going, is this normal? Thanks in advance!

Defeats the point of using this service. Not really a backup if I have to keep all my stuff plugged in. Thanks for explaining this.

I have Backblaze and lost a file. Backblaze didn’t have a copy of it. They don’t copy anything in Dropbox, Google Drive, etc iClouds which do have a local file. So they do NOT back up “every file on your hard drive”. Backblaze is for amateurs. Not serious people needing occasional version control or true full backup of files. Im deleting my account. Waste of money when I truly needed it, they couldn’t help me recover my lost file.

I have 27TB on one computer but my backup set is only 1.7TB. if they are fast enough I'm fine with downloads, my connection is 1500Mbit down.

Cheap and simple for backup yes, a complete disaster for recovery if you have a lot of data. The recover process and options for recovery will be an abysmal experience, trust me. If you value your data and in case your house burned down and you need that data back in a simple and timely manner the only sane option will be to pay them for shipping the data to you and for the drives. B2 which is their enterprise product is dirt cheap and really good and wont limit you to using a proprietary backup client , you can use any backup soft/solution you wish to since B2 is already supported by most major and if not there are many ways you can mount B2 buckets as a live filesystem to your host.

I recommend the reviewer to backup a couple of TB/million of files and then go through the process of restoring them from the cloud and revisit the review. Been there and done that, and would ill recommend anyone the suffer and grief that will follow

Backblaze sucks! I want something (IDrive) where I get to pick and not have to deselect to backup. I don't need my system files and other junk files backed up. I just want my data. files and not have to wade through menus to unselect. IJS

If you have more than 8TB stored, will they send multiple Hard Drives for you to back up?
