I have a 2017 530i sport line which runs fantastic, except for the take off from a dead stop. I have to push the peddle down a good ways in order for the car to move. For a quick take off I have to push the peddle down close to have way for the car to go. Once it takes off it runs great but its that taking off that bothers me. This is my first bmw so is this normal for bmw's or do I have an issue going on that the car's sensor's just not picking up.

Dude you just saved me so much headache. Back story: 2004 BMW 530i I just purchased was stalling to crank. Negated the battery after buying s new one, alt was kicking out 13.5 as it should so went for the starter. Tore the whole drivers side engine apart damn near just to get to it. Only to find out after having it tested that it was good. Later found a short. Anyway, put it all back together and it went into limp mode immediately. Been hunting for days thinking it was a vacuum leak somewhere. Ran across this video and honestly had zero faith it would work but had nothing to this point and it freaking worked. Stopped that stupid idle surge and no throttle response immediately and just drove it around no issues

Hi Mate thanks for the video, i drive BMW 5 series 520D and i have recently carried out glow plugs , glow plugs converter, EGR Valve replacements with DPF cleaning which has fixed the limp mode issues however i still feel a lag or sticky feeling (limp mode) for few seconds after changing gears . The car goes after just like normal but there is this imphase. Do you think i could do the same like you have shown in the video , Would you know what the issue is , took it to the garage he said if you dont have any lights on he could not plug the computer to check what is going on. Thanks

Thank you! Worked perfectly. Feels like I'm driving a completely different car. The acceleration lag was making me crazy! I was going to sell it after only having it for a month! This is the way I expected it to drive. (note- I did this on a 2017 X1 s28i)

while foot is being held on throttle push start again then wait 2 min for reset then start car normally..
