Is it good for driving up steep driveways and front yards?

It's interesting to say the hybrid system doesn't add much in terms of performance, but I can't help thinking the turbo lag of a 600+ HP would be pretty bad without the torque fill. That instant throttle response is one of my favorite things about a Ferrari engine.

I hate these cars, and I'd bet Enzo would as well. Insulated from the driving experience by a paddle shifter, electric steering, and electronic nannies/various driving modes, the visceral thrill of involvement is largely lost. Ferrari has lost its way. See the McLaren T50 for what Ferrari should be building.

Henry, love your reviews! Could you let me know how the 296GTB compares in legroom to the SF90 and the Lamborghini Huracan (not the Spyder) and the Maserati MC20? And may I know how tall you are? Thanks a lot for that personal information ;-)

In my opinion, it’s better with only a V6 and no hybrid assist.

Fine, when driving through towns you aren't producing any emissions, which are negligible anyway, but for 90% of the time you are carrying around all that dead weight which requires more fuel to be used. Hybrid technology especially on cars like this is a dead end and will be a pain in the ass to maintain in years to come. I can see many of these systems being removed from cars that have ample power in the combustion engine.

The design is too boring for the price you pay. I wouldn’t say it’s ugly but definitely lacklustre for a supercar.

This car needed to rev to 10,000 RPM before I could take it seriously.
Ferrari means F1 tech on the road but this is hardly any better than the R35.

The 296 technologically, is the best Ferrari since the 458. McLaren might struggle to sell the Artura even though the 296 is 100 thousand dollars more. The V6 in this car by itself, is almost as powerful as the Artura, absolutely mental.

Great review, Henry. The styling of the 296 GTB, like that of the Ford GT Mk1, continue to reinforce that sports cars from the 1960s were the best looking and will remain that way as various styling trends come and go.

As a former Dino owner despite the previous owner adorning it with Ferrari Shields on the wings, a prancing horse on the steering wheel and a Ferrari badge on the rear boot lid I constantly battled between is it or isn't it a Ferrari? My thoughts? It was a Dino.Which is special enough.

So that’s a limited 205mph right?
With that much power there’s no way it can just barely reach 200. It makes 62 more horsepower than the F1 before electric power is added and the F1 could go 241mph.

I’d have to say this car would be much better and purer without the batteries. I think we are going backwards here adding weight, and for me losing agility and emotion. I’m just not buying this electric car nonsense. I really don’t care what others think or if people frown down on me. At the end of the day if you have a functioning brain and you actually think for yourself outside of the mainstream propaganda, then you will know that any electric car is the absolute opposite of ‘green’. Research it for yourself people, look into the mining of lithium, cobalt and nickel for the batteries.

I remember when the 2nd gen NSX came out people complained about it being a hybrid. They bitched about Acura using a hybrid V-6 instead of a powerful V-8 or V-10. Now Ferrari and others are copying the formula and no-one is complain.

Well when you have a Dino you can go in the garage and clearly see the word Ferrari badged across the trunk in silver capital letters, so no horse on the front but Ferrari badge absolutely on a Dino which was originally designed specifically to race in a V6 class

I’m confused. Is the “channelled” sound into the cockpit designed to make you feel better about owning a V6 Ferrari? Add a battery to any car and it’ll be an instant improvement, it defeats all the challenges of classical engineering! Yes, I’m a dinosaur! 🦖
