Can You Beat Starbound Without Moving?

Hey there!

As of this comment, there's now closed captioning on the video, in case you were having trouble hearing the narration. I know, the music volume is way too high. Next time, I'll certainly do a better job with the mixing. Then again, next time I'll create the captions alongside the video, instead of hastily adding them post release using the worst caption editor known to mankind.

Other than that, I'd like to thank everyone who has watched the video in the less than two weeks since release! Seriously, I didn't dare dream of getting 200 subscribers two weeks ago, and now that number seems so quaint...

I just wanted to share this amazing way of moving without arrow keys. If you drink the low gravity potion (alien juice, i think) the rocket/drill spear literally kets you fly, no keys required

As cool as this video is, I've decided that I won't be finishing it just yet because you've inspired me to finish the game myself first so I don't get spoiled.

love all the touhou tracks as an addict myself ;DD though the slow movement was really annoying to see the entire run through since I remember the drill spear making you super fast with low grav alien fruit on top of being a solid weapon in its own right

Why did chapter eleven make me almost tear up?? Really amazing editing. I haven't played Starbound in SO long but this video reminded me why it's still technically my most played game on Steam despite not touching it for years. I might have to change that soon. Cheers!

In space you can move fast enough to go past an enemy before it detects you, meaning you can pass straight through them without contact damage

If this was modded I would suggest the rwby weapon mod, mystenasta (I don't know if I spelt that right) is insane for mobility, crescent rose is good for mobility in zero gravity, gambol shroud has a move that pulls you toward a place, and ember Celica dashes you toward a bit

If I'm correct, the reason ropes work in a weird way is that it tries to keep you in a circle around the ropes landing spot, decreasing or increasing when moving left/right. By jumping, the game tries to put you in the circle when you land, but it's occupied by the ground, so it just moves you horizontally, but not vertically. It'll also decrease the circle to accommodate for this. I have no idea if this helps, but hopefully it does.

I've been using that strategy on moontants for the longest time. It's actually better to use a dart for the second hit, it's generally less of a waste of spears.

Ah, Starbound.. It really is a shame what happened to it. It was promising and is still a good game, but the story element is where the game fell apart.

i like how you didn't just rephrase the challenge to "as little moving as possible", which makes you more original than 95% of challenge content creators
