ps. i’m going to die as my school offers this as a freshman and i think i wanna take it just for the credit

All jokes aside I love the class just my eighth grade teachers and peers directly undersold the difficulty of it.

Just got a 5 on the exam and I gotta say the class was difficult but also interesting and I was lucky enough to have a really good teacher

APUSH is only rough if you have a shitty teacher/ memorizing names, dates and associating them aswell

Just started taking APUSH 3 weeks ago. I’m currently not doing so well in the class, but that is just motivating me to do better. at my school, apush is spread out into two one year courses: us history 1 honors, which u take sophomore year, and apush, which u take junior year. i signed up for us history 1 honors not knowing that it was just apush in disguise and now i’m regretting everything.

Be good at writing essays fast and learn general ideas ig. I forgot to study for the AP exam I'm surprised I got a 4.

I passed my APUSH exam back in 2019. Here are a few tips I have for you guys.

1. Spend more time practicing how to write essays than answer multiple choice questions.

2. Understand not only the basics of each time period, but how each topic connects to each other. This is a BIG part of the APSUH exam. For example in the video, one of the LEQs asked you to connect the Mexican-American War and Slavery. KNOW THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN EACH PERIOD AND TOPIC.

3. Don't cram. I know you hear this from everyone, but just don't do it. For some people, it can work, but just assume it won't. Start studying for the exam around a month or two before the AP Exam.

4. Learn the vocabulary from each time period. This will make reading documents way easier. If a document about the Wilmot Proviso comes up, you should already know what the Wilmot Proviso is.

5. Finally, get some rest before the exam. It helps so much. And try not to study extremely hard the day before.

I got a 3 on the exam. Definitely a lot of work but a very interesting class. If you like history definitely recommend.

If you write your FRQ as a giant block you will get a 0 on that section ;)

couldn't take any ap course in my freshman or sophomore years because of a program i am in which requires two periods , now in junior year i am taking 3 ap and the first day of school my us history teacher gave reading and anylysis i am so confuse😢

I went from a district that had honors to a district that only had AP. I thought AP would be somewhat like honers but I was so wrong 🥲

hey y’all-i need just like honest thoughts on my situation rn.
so i’m an incoming sophomore, i did ap world history freshman year and im most likely gonna do apush sophomore year. my school has two apush teachers and one of them is apparently like the worst-is it possible to still enjoy apush with a bad teacher? i don’t know which teacher i have but im mentally prepared for the worst and im honestly just so scared for next year-even though i’ve always been really good at school i feel like history is not my strong suit but like i should still do this course? idk what to do and i’m just hoping that after summer i’ll be more ready to face this class

So i watched this vid when i started the school yr and had an A- first semester and a 95.75 second semester in apush. i got a 5 on the ap exam too. these tips are sorta outdated cuz there is better stuff like Heimler. I did barely any work to study and really just did every heimler vid and took notes on it and did some practice tests and SAQs. probably 1-2 hours of studying a day and i would skip days hella. a good teacher helps and just pay attention in class and ask questions. this class is not hard and i found ap euro to be harder than this, also, ap euro will help u hella in this class.

And I’m going to fail this year

the school average grade for the first test in apush (mcq + saq) was a D+/C- 💀

Should I take it even if I dont know anything about the history of the US (i come from mexico so all I know is the 9/11 incident)

Call me crazy but the only hard part of this class at least for me is the unit tests

2024 - just took the apush exam and I bombed it. If you have no idea how to write an SAQ DBQ or LEQ without help from the internet, don't even bother taking the exam. Don't be lazy, go over the rubrics and get plenty of practice months ahead of time. Don't waste money. I had an A in the class with no effort, but trust me-- im pretty sure i got a 1

AP APUSH is the only AP class I’ve ever taken, I might’ve gotten a high B but holy shit I would never put myself through that bullshit again

School starts in 2 days I took this class. 10 months from now ill tell you how it is

I got a 4 on the final AP test for APUSH without studying or doing the required homework (my class grade because of that was a B, which I basically only got because i kept it afloat by getting good test results throughout the year). No notes, no required hw, but the two things i did do were to pay attention in class and then watch Heimler. That guy is a life saver

I’m a history buff, and I am currently taking the APUS. I too find the textbook boring due to its basic nature. Although this video does have good advice.

Honestly this class is nowhere near as hard as people make it out to be. like boo hoo theres a bit of work, grow up. You want a real challenge? Something even the most academically inclined students struggle with? Take ap chem. That shit is Egyptian hieroglyphics.
