Wonderfull d-.-b 2024 🤘..
ОтветитьThe start of the video is tragic as we watch one man lose everything he loves.
ОтветитьReminds me of the best time of my life…. Thanks a lot Asia!
ОтветитьBeautiful song, beautiful chords. Great band.
Ответитьone of their most epic songs!
chills.
Three words…..John. Freaking. Wetton!
ОтветитьAgree with all the comments, an absolute masterpiece. Songwriting this good just gives you chills. John Wetton's vocals have probably never sounded better...one of their very finest moments.
ОтветитьAbsolutely love this song!
ОтветитьThis is a moving song with a rather dark video.
From what I've heard, the ''movie" is about a child who's caught in the middle of a very messy divorce, and when she tries to get to her father, it allegedly implies that she jumped into the river to try and get to her father, but she drowned in the process which has left John broken until he sees the little girl, which makes for a surreal epilogue.
Very beautiful song from a great band !
Sweet nostalgia tbh
A masterpiece...this song will never fade with the years,i always loved this song since i was a kid and my sister got that lp in early eighties...such a moving brillant epic composition...
ОтветитьI'd like to see this performed with a massive cathedral organ included.
ОтветитьFour decades later, the smile will never leave the eyes of music fans when they listen to this song.
ОтветитьAlways loved this song.
ОтветитьGreat song. Bad idea for a video. Destroyed the second album. 😏
ОтветитьThis song always catches my soul and heart because it's so dramatic and tells us a story of many divorced couples and how terrible is the ending of a relationship for the children.
The damage is huge on the heads of the kids.
Who didnt cry whit this clip?
ОтветитьA masterpiece.
ОтветитьJohn Wetton penned “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” (1983) about his bandmate Geoff Downes.
In an interview, he stated : “[Geoff] was going through a complete emotional turmoil over a girl […], and I identified so strongly that I went home and wrote the song IN FIVE MINUTES. Boom! Sat right down at the piano and there it was. IF ANYTHING’S STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART, THAT SONG IS.” 💙🎹💜
May you rest in peace, John Kenneth Wetton (1949 - 2017)… 🌹
That happened to me long time ago
ОтветитьOne of my favorite songs of all time, but the video has always confused me. Is it really supposed to be a "twist ending" that the girl shows up at the end? Given that her disappearance was part of a movie, I'm not sure why I should be surprised by that.
ОтветитьThis song by Asia has crossed my mind. "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes" is totally great. I mias hearing this song
ОтветитьI miss John Wetton...excellent vocalist
ОтветитьNow that the smilleeeee has left your eeeeeeyyyyy eyyyyyy eeeessssss.
ОтветитьI've never seen John Wetton with a Rickenbacker bass. There's a first time for everything I guess.
Ответить2023 still listening. Great music!
ОтветитьLove this song ❤
ОтветитьThe video for this is incredibly cinematic, like it could have been a real movie. When Alpha was released I played it in its entirety nearly every night for months. A perfect follow-up to the first album in my opinion.
ОтветитьIt's the classic story about mommy cheating making Daddy look bad. But, the child sees through Moms deception. Essentially, it is about karma. If only people thought about their families and how they remember or will learn about all of these types of behavior. People can do better.
ОтветитьWondefurl song and I always cry when I watch this video clip, the more sad in history 😔
ОтветитьRIP MR WETTON
ОтветитьI feel so lucky to have seen them in concert, they killed it!
ОтветитьI'm 23 years old, I first started listening to this song when I was 8. My step dad gave me a CD player with a screen and speakers and also gave me a couple of Asia and Rush albums. I watched and listened to those albums on repeat. And now 15 years later, the videos come to the stage. This is very nostalgic for me; this song along with a few others from Asia and Rush got me through some of the most difficult parts of my childhood. Thank you John
ОтветитьWas Jim Downs no longer with the band at this point?
ОтветитьThis sounds like REO Speedwagon's I Can't Fight This Feeling.
ОтветитьAmazing band
ОтветитьI love Carl's drum kit in this!
ОтветитьOne my favorite Song on one There Album. Use play over and over and over again on my record. Never know about the video clip only song. Never watch on MTV back then. More radio stations listener. Once had friend in England later found someone else ended got married. So yes hardship find anyone. Was back then was Fan Club from my other music artist.
ОтветитьWow that song gets you right to the end and you think omg the child has died and then there she is at the door to the stage... Thank goodness lol
ОтветитьMr Wetton put the emotion in the song.
ОтветитьThis song got me thru a painful breakup in '85. When she wanted me back, a year later, I told her I had to give it some thought. Then I sent her a cassette with this song on it.
ОтветитьSuch a tear jerker 😢
ОтветитьMy favorite.
ОтветитьSuch a good song and very few have ever heard it!
ОтветитьSimplemente ESPECTACULAR.💖
Ответить...Mr. John (RiP), 12.06.1949 - 31.01.2017. To już 6 lat upłynęło. 👍👏👌👋✌🙋😘❤👂🎼🎵🎸🎤🎹😄🎶🎵Ale jest do czego, do Kogo wracać.
ОтветитьThat could've been a Grizzold moment when the Citroen went through the Archway.
ОтветитьAn extremely beautiful song by this AMAZING supergroup... and John's voice. He had the voice of an angel, he was absolutely fantastic. Definetly, Asia - supergroup, super musicians - is in my top 5 favourite bands; I loved even their reunion albums. I am so lucky to have been a happy teenager in the 80s and have the opportunity to enjoy such wonderful music. John, I still miss you, but you live in your legacy, your music and every time we listen to your unique voice 💙. Gone but never forgotten. God Bless you!!
