Fairly new to reselling and I knew about promoted listings but never wanted to pay more fees! Never realized that 2% would do the trick. I turned promoted listings on at 2% last week just like you explained and my sales have literally DOUBLED! Very cool, thanks so much for sharing this!
ОтветитьI was selling 3 items a month before I promote my items and now I’m selling 4 items a month WOW a huge step
ОтветитьeBay also charges you a fee on the shipping. If it cost you $50 to ship the item. They are charging you the percentage fee for that amount also.
Ответитьjust when you think ebay seller fees are high, NOPE, they find another way to grab more money ! L O L
Ответить12% holy moly
ОтветитьJustin does the same goes for drop shipping? After the fees I'm making about 2-10$profit per item
ОтветитьQuick nickel beats a slow dime.
ОтветитьI promte all my listings at 2% some At 3-5% but after me and several sellers did not see any difference at all the same if not less but do your math. It does not help me to promote higher I always get the same results. Sorry I see no proof positive "YET"! maybe I am doing something wrong but After seeing a interview with a engineer he stated and also the interview on national show the person interviewed said that the only reason the promoted rate is for the Stockholders to regain profits . This is what i saw . Has no proof of that as well. Your guess is as good as mine but I do study this a lot and In depth.
ОтветитьThank you! didn't know you could adjust the rate for the Promoted Listings!! I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge!! Love your videos!
ОтветитьThanks 🙏 I didn’t understand advanced
ОтветитьYou are really, really, really wrong about this.
Let me explain something to you.
Upwork works similar to eBay, much how Etsy and Amazon work too.
What I mean is, on Upwork, people offer their rates for jobs, and what you find over time is quite simply, a race to the bottom. People constantly under cutting each other to the point of diminishing returns.
Let me explain how this translates to eBay.
You're saying grunt the 12.80% charge and the £0.30 flat fee per sale and give eBay even more money by paying for listing promotions.
This is a bad idea.
What do you think the 49,000 people (as of 10/11/2023) watching this video will likely do now? PAY THE PROMOTION FEE.
What does this matter? Because it's another stupid race to the bottom that eBay has the power of.
It's eBay essentially saying: "Look, we've totally changed our algo recently to prevent you greedy sellers making as much sales. We've totally done this to encourage charging you more in the form of listing promotions. We believe this will help our business grow and yours, of course, we benefit fully from this and you have to work harder for less, but you get the idea"
So now everybody to make it work is going to have to pay for listing promotions ON TOP OF their already stupidly high cut.
Bravo. 👏👏👏
P.S I'm not wrong for seeing it how it is. You don't think everybody who sells on eBay has recently had a bit of a down turn? Very coincidental isn't it.
Don't believe me, I don't really care. You wait and see how this turns out. Good luck.
Amazing how it's always the simple things that make the most sense once we find the solution. Thanks SOOOO much for this, never knew!!!
ОтветитьSounds great ,will try will let you know
ОтветитьI always go 2.5% and trust me its faster sell
Ответитьpromoted listings is the scam ebay forces upon us
ОтветитьDon't most buyers know how to search under lowerst price first ?
I don't buy it !
Great information! Thanks. Happy thrifting. 😊
Ответитьyou say double the pay im trying to get it to 5k month first lol help
ОтветитьI thought promotions don’t change search results and only show the item in suggested items
ОтветитьEbay charges 13.5% now (12% when the video was made) Justin, thanks for making this channel!!
ОтветитьYour explanations Rock!
ОтветитьCan you promote auctions? Or only bin stuff?
ОтветитьI'll have to look into this!
ОтветитьThank you for your help again
ОтветитьI can attest, promoted listings doubled my sales as well. I way need to trim back my % though... Thanks!
ОтветитьI feel that Ebay will get sellers addicted to quick sales and then as sales drop they'll steadily increase their rate just like every other seller so this seems more of a quick fix than a long term solution, but I could be wrong. I feel they want sellers desperate because Promoted listings is keeping then afloat, just read their quarterly reports! Also, some of the biggest sellers pass savings on to the customer by giving what they would have given ebay via promoted listings to the buyer. Buyers that sort by lowest price first will find them and if not, google will! Some of the biggest sellers I see put out loss-leaders or essentially small items that break even and get buyers to buy more product with a BOGO offer to increase order size. Though if you drop price too low in my experience you are shown less in results. There are definitely a lot of ways to go but for the sellers that need a high turnover then I can see this as a viable option. Good to see it working for you, hope you keep us updated on it. Also, one last thing! It's scary seeing so many sellers just promoting all their listings even those with low competition where they are one of the few results that show up. They are essentially giving ebay extra fees in these cases which is a waste of money so some items are indeed not worth promoting. But yeah, most sellers are limited in space so they have to sell fast. Anyway, just wanted to add to the discussion. Thanks!
ОтветитьNew sub! I started eBay 2 years ago and failed miserably because I didn’t take the time to figure out shipping beforehand. I’m back and giving it another try!
ОтветитьThank you for making it simple to understand.
ОтветитьI have sold on eBay since 2005 this is the worst I have seen it. I have brand new Nike, Under Armour, adidas, and many more name brand clothes and shoes. Nothing is selling I have all my items promoted at 2%. Hate to be negative but it is horrible right now. I sell 1 or 2 items a day then nothing for a day or two. IT IS HORRIBLE!!!
ОтветитьThis guy is an absolute SHILL
ОтветитьIt really works I did this 2 days ago and have already seen a big difference. Thank you so much for the help. I thought my pricing was off but it was just not being seen.
ОтветитьWhen I list on my phone it let's me do %1. Do you think I should do 2 or 1%
ОтветитьThe best results I've gotten, is selling Antiques, and Collectibles. I've tried some clothing, and shoes, and did TERRIBLE. Promoted listings are driving many Sellers broke. If you are doing 20% Promoted on shirts, then you are paying Ebay around 35%. That's ALOT of money overall. I buy more unique or limited items. As such, the most I do is 5%. Might take awhile for a collector to buy my item, but I prefer that, than making $2 an item in Flooded Categories. My profit margin is very good on items. Profit margin should be what people need to concern themselves with, not how many sales they make.
ОтветитьYou can't even promote on Ebay Ireland it's so unfair 😢
ОтветитьGreat genuine video thanks! You just saved me a ton of money!
ОтветитьExcellent info! Thank you so much!
ОтветитьI appreciate your honest and informed approach. I've resisted 'Promoted Listings' for a long time. I have serious reservations about this option, but I will think about it differently since watching this video.
ОтветитьHello new sub here.. Just hit that like button.. I think thats the most copy paste phrase on the YT channel.. But hey, It works right lol
ОтветитьNow ebay has a 30 day trigger..... if you promote an item and someone clicks on it but doesn't buy. Then you take the item OFF PROMOTEd listing .... the customer comes back a week later if it's within 30 DAYS. You will have to pay your promoted fee. This just happened to me.
........ here is the Ebay quote
.........You’re only charged if a buyer clicks on your promoted listing or on the heart icon to add an item to their watchlist and then purchases any of your Promoted Listings Standard items within 30 days.
Dang. I already promote listings. Guess I'll just list more.
ОтветитьIf you promote every listing - won't all sales incur the 2% when a buyer clicks on it and buys? How can it be an "organic" sale if every search result shows my listing as "sponsored"? Is it only when my listing is in the top 5 or something?
ОтветитьStill 14 percent for ebays audience and buy power is low. People need to get over their "the fees are expensive" shit. Its millions of people ebay brings to your items, open a local store and you might get maybe 50 eyes a day..... plus you gotta pay employees and utilitys and rent....
ОтветитьWhere do you go to find out how many sellers and how many are sold on items?
ОтветитьJustin you are awesome
ОтветитьDid not know this. Thank you for the advice.
ОтветитьI promote all my items still no sales
ОтветитьThe main issue I have with ebay promoted listings is - we sellers are not told exactly what we are getting for what we pay. We're not informed on the algorithms. Seems at 2% what I do see is my 'sponsored' thumbnail photo shows up twice on the same page. Not sure what advantage that is? So what does 3%, 4%, 5% get me in promotions? Pick a % - it's all a guessing game. I've done no PL and 2-3% PL and can't say I see much difference. If everyone promotes, basically we've all just upped our fees. And if other sellers promote at higher rates than me, my listings are downgraded anyway. It does feel somewhat like extortion, so my listings are not hidden, and in conclusion, that would lean me towards paying, though reluctantly.
Ответитьexcellent explanation
ОтветитьYeah...another clickbait. How many sellers promote their listings in the same category, similar items??
ОтветитьGreat information
