Ark Survival Evolved vs Ark Survival Ascended Graphics Comparison (EPIC Graphics Settings)

I just bought ASA to play on the new Xbox. I was previously playing ASE on the old Xbox.

To be honest I thought ASE was beautiful, the graphics were so clean and sharp, the nature felt serene.

The new graphics on ASA are such a disappointment. Blurry and look like an airbrushed comic strip. Wth Is going on? Is this just a console problem?

Mixed bag. However the ascended clips make the PC look very shrunk down compared to the environment/terrain. And way to much volumetric fog. It's a tool to be used sparingly to set atmosphere. It's like bloom and motion blur, some devs are so enamored of them the overuse is horrid. It's like salt, use tiny amounts sparingly to achieve a good effect, don't drown the work in it.

Xbox and PS5 gonna struggle. I need to buy a high end PC.

Wait I thought evolved actually looked a lot better. Ascended made everything fuzzy with smoke, fog, haze, I don't understand! I prefer the clarity

The home looks better but not that much different I wold not say it's the best looking game out there

If I’m being honest man both games look amazing on epic settings. Yes acended is way way better but ASE wasn’t that bad to me atleast

Of course it looks way better. The light is so changing...The best is when the weather gets cloudy, the colors becomes so beautiful.
Yesterday I had to land quickly because I got stuck in a sudden fog coming with the freshening air and I couldn't see anything further than the head of the ptero... So scary Sometimes it was a little bit less dense, but It feels realistic. I just like the ambiance, it's so immersive.
