Automatically Apply Discount Code in Shopify

Hi, just bumped into your channel 7 years later.

If a discount code is already in place how do you get it to autopopulate only once for new time customers.

I have appstle in place that does the restrictions however, it is triggered by a customer logging in or registering a new account which is toi many clicks.

Any ideas?

so when a particular promo code is used (by my dealers clients), me and the dealer who owns the code should get email so i pay him also his own client get discount
do you know if there is any Shopify app that allow it ?

Hey there. Do you know how automatic discount code works, programmatically speaking? I have modified a cart page and the quantities of buy X get Y no longer adjust perfectly as they should (it does fine when I modify the Y product, but the X product gets stuck and I can't add quantity on it. Seems like the "quantity adjusting" is processed server-side, so I really don't know where to look. Any tips? Cheers

How to remove applied discount code once cart product has been changed without checkout?

I tried this and it doesn't work, unfortunately.

This does not make sense. The only way for this to work is to add the products you want to purchase first, navigate out of the checkout funnel to a random page so they can click on a link that will automatically apply the coupon code.... am I the only one confused by this? The ideal way to apply an automatic coupon code would be for it to apply as the customer is selecting the product that they want to purchase, then proceed through the checkout funnel and have the code automatically apply. The only other possible option would be to add this snippet of code to the end of each URL for each product you want the code to apply to... And that might not even work.

how did you get the insert link box to pop up

I don’t get it... how will this put the code in the checkout if the conditions are met? For instance let’s say I buy a 5$ item : code will logically not appear on checkout.
But if I buy 2 items and the total is 12$, will the code appear in the checkout without any additional link clicking?

So, you enter the liquid code in some random page? I am confused by this. Is there an inconspicuous place to enter the code that makes more sense than under a "sizing chart" for instance?
