Kaboom! Zap! Bamm! Blam! Wwoooorp! Smash! Woosh!
ОтветитьFormula 1 used a few variants of this font on their on-screen graphics for the longest part of their existence on TV. And that's include the tragic San Marino GP in 1994. During Senna's crash live on TV, the graphics wrote "Senna ... (Car #2)" in Futura Bold.
ОтветитьWes Anderson also really likes Futura because Powell and Pressburger used to use it for their movie credits and they're some of his favorite filmmakers so its yet another example of him paying homage!
ОтветитьNationalsocialist Germany traditionally uses Tannenberg, not Futura
ОтветитьFutura has inspired many different typefaces over the years including Twentieth Century and Century Gothic, both of which are included in Microsoft Office. Those two were created by Monotype, the same foundry behind Arial, Times New Roman, and Courier New.
Ответитьthis is the tiktok font
Ответитьi just want to mention that the one only thing that bothers me about futura is that the lowercase J's don't have that tail that most other versions have
is there a version of the font that fixes this?
I LOVE Futura. It’s what I use in my Anki flashcards :)
ОтветитьAverage futura fan vs average fraktur enjoyer
ОтветитьOMG this my phone's font
ОтветитьI never knew that Wes Anderson's favorite font had an interesting history! 🤓
ОтветитьThat was way too short. Could have been much longer!
ОтветитьWhy not acknowledge Christopher Burke whose book "Paul Renner: The Art of Typography" is extensively appropriated in this video?
ОтветитьWhy don't you make videos like this anymore...
Ответитьi always use this font. it’s just so versatile.
Ответитьlemon.
ОтветитьIt's a good thing that Battlefield 1 use this font too. :)
Ответитьi use futura for my e book, it's really comfortable to look at
ОтветитьThis is what happened:
Paul Renner didn't like the current font, called Fraktur
He made a modern font called Futura
Germany didn't like that it was the future so they banned it
Germany prohibited Paul Renner from going into Germany
Germany let Paul Renner into Germany
Germany unbanned Futura and occasionally used Futura
Germany banned Fraktur because they thought it was Jewish looking
Germany then used Futura and decided that it was more readable
Futura was an international font and people acknowledged that
Future was clear and modern
NASA chose Futura because it's easy to read
Futura traveled beyond Earth
I don't really notice anything special about futura, just looks like plain text to me.
ОтветитьLoving your homage to Wes Anderson here!
ОтветитьSomebody had fun filming this lol
ОтветитьAnother interesting thing is that the US during WWII abandoned Futura, so as to not use the German typeface, and instead published and advertised the use of American made typefaces.
ОтветитьTHE BOLD VERSION IS USED IN THE NOGGIN LOGO!
ОтветитьHow many people saw FUTURA and immediately thought FUTURAMA? 😎🍺🍕☮️🏳️🌈
Ответитьhey, i like Tannenberg Fraktur
ОтветитьVUTA
ES
FUTURA
Unashamedly my go-to typeface
ОтветитьI use futura on my kindle
ОтветитьFutura is... classy.
ОтветитьThe Great One.. 😊
ОтветитьPlease do a video on Comic Sans history and the hatred
ОтветитьFutura is usually used as a display font, but I've always liked it as a text font as well. When I was about 9 years old, I became fascinated with photography (actually on pushing special techniques - I loved photography more as a science than as an art - a minority opinion).
I had "The Golden Book of Photography", and its text was in Futura (or possibly a knockoff designed to be indistinguishable from Futura).
Another great font, IMHO, is Franklin Gothic.
I send letters out as a part of my job. I switched the fonts for the address labels from Arial to Franklin Gothic Medium Condensed, similar to the News Gothic that Polaroid used in the sixties and seventies.
Ah! So refreshing to see Vox dealing in fact for a change.
Ответитьcough cough skyrim font cough
ОтветитьThe font makes me a bit uneasy. I can't put what about it, but it does.
ОтветитьDidn't EA's Battlefield 1 & V use this font?
ОтветитьEven the best font was german
ОтветитьIf Ted Kennedy had paid more attention to Futura, he might have been President.
ОтветитьI have this font in notepad
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьI've never seen this font
ОтветитьWolfenstein
Ответитьthis video's subtitle didn't use the futura font so there's that.
ОтветитьFutura is also the Bastille font
ОтветитьI love it!
