Awww, love that your pea puffer got to make some new friends! How many tanks are you planning to downsize to? I did the same thing last year and am much happier for it. :)
ОтветитьI love that, perfect solution! 😊
Ответитьi downsized from 7 aquariums to 4 but im back up to 5 now since taking care of my friends goldfish that i will not put with mine.
ОтветитьI’m down to one Pea out of five, same scenario. This senior Puffer lives in a 29 gal with a ton of Swordtails, Platies, Mollies, and corydoras. They respect him and defer to him when eating and traveling the tank. In this case he’s fine where he is for the remainder of his life.
ОтветитьSo great for both of you! Glad he’s doing so well!
ОтветитьWow that’s crazy man. I understand the down size though. He is in good hands with some new friends. Crazy though because I was just thinking about getting a pea puffer tank haha
ОтветитьSometimes that's just what needs to be done for sure. Good stuff man 👍💪
ОтветитьA win win for everyone!
ОтветитьRespect for doing what’s best for the fish! Love the vid!
ОтветитьI don’t know anything about fish or marine life but you still manage to make your videos entertaining.
ОтветитьWell they had a good run. I hope you find the right number of tanks for you. A lot of us when we get into it strong get tons of tanks then kinda find a good day to day number. Great vid Jeremy. I’m glad she got it.
ОтветитьCompletely understand / agree ! Props to Kat too ✌💞 I had 14 tanks , consolidated and now i have 6 tanks. 👊
ОтветитьHey by chance man I need advice. I have a 10 gallon tank that I was not using for a while so I decided to use again since I have 60 and 37 that I use mostly. So I fixed it up new heater new filter. Now my question is I put a betta and a pea puffer in their together so far they get along but can this change in a instant.
ОтветитьWait but I subscribed because of that pea puffer.
ОтветитьI think the reason why both puffers died in this case might have been stress. While you can keep multiple puffers in a 10 gallon tank, I wouldn't recommend it. Through experience, I have found that dwarf puffers stress easily, which I believe is the cause of their aggression. Even though people say that Male puffers are agressive and territorial with one another, I have found that that is not the case. Both of my dwarf puffers are male, and have never shown signs of aggression towards each other or other fish. (They do aggress small snails, but that is more of a predatorial thing.) I have found that the puffers prefer sleeping on their own compared to with each other. Instead of heavily planting the tank, give each puffer their own thicket of plants a good distance from each other. I have found that dwarf puffers thrive best in a ratio of 1 puffer per every 10 gallons (Which makes sence given they can apparently see up to 20 feet away). Keep direct contact with their environment to a minimum. I have found that my puffers are their mosts stressed when major changes occur, such as water changes, tank cleanings, and even power outages. (The puffers do not do well if the water is not continuously oxygenated. If their filter stops for 1 to 2 hours, they are fine, but anything beyond that is the danger zone for them. Keep an emergency air source on hand for them in case this happens.) These conditions might not be the same in each ideal tank, so the general rule of thumb I would give is if the puffer shows any signs of aggresion towards each other or other fish, the tank is not ideal for keeping dwarf puffers in. If your puffers get along with each other and other fish, the tank is ideal and should be kept as is. (If you are going to put other fish in, they do better with fish that are similar in size, and swim at a different water level. Bottom feeders do well, but my puffers also swam well with a female betta.)
ОтветитьThey died, because they did not rat snsils for shortening their beaks.
This way their teeth grew further and further, until they couldnt eat anymore.
Remember always to keep pea puffers in groups of minimum 10 fish. :)
he’s doing really well in my tank, appreciate you giving him to me to live out the rest of his life in my care 🐟
