Why would DP's use Alexia and Red cameras when the GH 5 is so fab? IMHO, I have never seen a full cinema style screen projection from a GH 4. I wonder what a 20 foot X 40 foot projections would look like?

I'm a relatively new doc film director with a fair amount of still photo experience. Does a GH4 as the A camera and a G7 as the B
make good quality, as well as economic sense? I may not be able to wait until March for the GH5.
PS: Could I learn these cameras fairly efficiently myself? Excellent film presence and presentation, by the way!

Please tell us about low light performance of GH5! Is it better than GH4s??? O worse?

Funnily enough 60fps is really popular for gifs now, people love smooth gifs. Even though it's just a stream of stills in one file and not actually video.

So i got my gh4 about a week ago for arround 1050 euro. Does anyone know if the GH4 prices are going to drop to the floor and lose a lot of money from it? I mean i nevery realy was going for the GH5 because of it's price, but should i have waited for it to come out so GH4 drops a lot?

So....ALL HD is 422 10Bit, also the 180fps!??
The internal 4k is only 24p....the rest is UHD, right!?

And what resolution is the 4K you can output via HDMI? 4K 422 10Bit, or UHD 422 10Bit?

Hey Griffin, loved the short documentary. I remember watching you back on Indie Mogul. You really inspired me to film more and to get a Panasonic gh4, and I finally got one this week. I love the camera and just wanted to say that you are a big inspiration to me.

Griffin I apologize if you have already answered this, but one thing that really inspired me to buy a GH4 was your video on the features of it, foremost the setting that switches the camera into "film" mode where it basically switches into Cinema 4k and allows you to have all these cool options for shooting basically 24p and none of the other options (therby making GH4 easy to navigate when shooting a "film")... is this GH5 still headed in that direction, where it seems almost primarily built for film makers? I am very interested in this at the moment and if they have a "film making mode" like the predecessor, I will likely continue to follow your footsteps and purchase a GH5 :)

Hi Griffin, Absolutely amazing ice documentary - Inspired to upgrade from my G6 to the GH5. Looking to start making some short films. What lens would you recommend as a starting point? Have a 20mm prime on my G6 at the mo, but like the look of your 12 - 35 I think.

This is great. Loved the podcast, I would consider a third angle, probably a two-shot of both of you maybe to spice up the video for those who are gonna watch and not just listen. Could be rad. Stoked for more.

So, Griffin, I really loved the ice video--and the colors looked beautiful. Did you shoot it in V-log and use a LUT? I wonder how the color looks on different, non LOG profiles?
But my real question is as follows: If you used something like a Canon FD 1.8 85mm will you still get peaking, waveform, and in-camera stabilization. Thanks ahead of time for your response.

This looks ace! We film a lot of freestyles and interviews in the studio but the video always looks crap when we upload hoping this would help, also what lens did you use for this video?

I love all your work. I also own a gh4 and went by your settings on the video you did on "How to set up your GH4 for filmmaking".. my question is...are you gonna do one of those for the GH5?

My biggest concern is whether the micro four third sensor is a deal breaker compared to other cameras with APSC sensors like the a6500 or even full frame Sony cameras..any help would be appreciated. I am a big fan of yours. keep up the good work

The GH5 is NOT the only Panasonic capable of 4K 60P. The cheaper Panasonic camcorder HC-X1000 does 60P and 60i at 4K.
Look on page 51 of the manual.

Hey Griffin, what iso were you shooting at in the bar scene? there's literally no grain, looks really crisp.

Hand-Cut shot at 60P looked absolutely amazing. I shoot 30P on my NX1 for that look because it really pops at trade shows and for tutorials, but 60P is even better. In the right hands, footage from a GH5 could be mistaken for VariCam LT. Excellent work and thank you for your contributions to the online community of video shooters.

Do you happen to know if the GH5 focus control now works via the Zhiyun Crane 2 gimbal? Last I heard it only worked with the Canon 5D Mark III & IV.
