It's hard to believe for me, that my parents had no Internet, when they were young. Now you need it for so much things.

I thought flash and actionscript was developed by macromedia

I want to do web development but damn javascript be weird and it be holding me back.

Oh man, I got onto that Flash hype train before adobe, before macromedia, when it was still called Future Splash! it was actually super innovative at the time when everyone was still making "roll-overs" in javascript and making gif "animations". Macromedia "Shockwave" was a peice of crap too so Macromedia bought Future Splash and called it "Shockwave Flash" 🤦‍♂. Now there's a thing called RIVE and it's basically futuresplash but doesn't need a special player (which is what killed Flash).

JavaScript: Runs 3 billion frameworks

I love how people give that woman that asks what the internet is hard time or make fun of her. Truth be told when the internet was new many people didn't know. At least she asked instead of playing stupid.

man, javascript is cool and all but i just hate people being lazy and making desktop apps that are just javascript browser windows, for example discord, its annoying because it has high cpu overhead, which is a problem when trying to run it on older or less powerful machines, a native c++ or c# or RUST implemetation would be way better for that use case imo

it's a bit sad the video doesn't mention that rollup and webpack were aiming to replace horrendous tools like grunt and gulp people had to rely on because you can't expect every computer to run bash

My advice for supporting IE... don't.
