I’ve been going down mitre database rabbit hole and binging reports it’s great way to learn attack concepts and mitigations but I feel like I have no hands on skills. Not sure where In industry I fit in.
ОтветитьMy govt job will pay for a degree, I’m considering cyber security. I have some Linux skills, sitting for rhcsa by the end of the year, would it be worth it to get that degree, especially since it’s free or would you recommend a better degree to focus on?
ОтветитьFor someone who is coming from the b2b sales industry and has no experience or knowledge in cyber security but is looking for a new career path which of the specializations that you just mentioned should I take? ОтветитьGood day i live in the Caribbean is it possible to get remote work in Cybersecurity
ОтветитьGreat video as always, I am doing exactly that, I scaled a lot of things down and have leaned heavy into more hands on in AWS for solutions architect with a specialty in security, so much so I've paid and will for the next 3-6 months for Cloud Quest which is amazing by the way for cloud hands on experience. I do plan on getting more into security automation after I become proficient in AWS. I am also still trucking through the last few 6 classes at WGU and I still do some coding here and there in python to keep me familiar until I can deep dive into it.

ОтветитьSo my question is “ These are ALL the specialities” right? One can just become “ DETECTION ENGINEER and follow what you mentioned about it correct? And them learn CLOUD SECURITY along with it right? For example Detection Engineer+ Cloud Security Engineer. @ UnixGuy your videos are extremely helpful and full of knowledge. I just started taking Microsoft Cuber Security training on Coursera and following the steps that you mentioned. Please help furthermore with the answer
ОтветитьThis video gave me so much motivation I’m starting my cybersecurity journey and boot camp starts Dec 4 thank you for the excellent information
ОтветитьThe title of Engineer is exceptionally hard to earn- the barrier to entry is extremely high and demanding. People who have done this massive and very selective grind would be understandably upset by someone coming off the street with a cert or two calling themselves an Engineer in anything. That being said, Engineers come in a variety of flavors, skill levels and disciplines. An Engineer is someone who uses a combination of their knowledge, technical skill, experience and creativity to solve complex problems. Even a casual glance at this discipline reveals powerful and sophisticated tools that come with a steep learning curve. Now, if somebody passes their interview and gets hired, if they know what they are doing and can solve problems, I don't think their colleagues will question them or ask what their credentials are. But, if even as a new hire, they fall on their face too many times or screw up something mission critical, you'd better believe that uncomfortable questions will be asked. If there is a large-scale project with PE certified people and often, PhD physicists on the job, any serious mistake and heads are going to roll. There are also liability issues and occasionally even people that knew what they were doing lost their lives on heavy projects like Dams, Bridges, Skyscrapers and Power Plants. For something like a BSEE degree, the coursework is insanely difficult with a lot of post-calculus math. Even after graduation, many companies like GE or Westinghouse will put their new engineers through taxing proprietary training. It is common for a graduating class of Engineers at even a Tier 2 school to have lost more than half of their colleagues to attrition along the way. I have known several electrical engineers, an aeronautical engineer, a physicist, a software tester, and a mathematician, they are some of the most brilliant people walking this earth. Don't say nobody told you, and if you are faking the funk you will not be working as an Engineer very long. Continuous learning is key to retaining this title, just take it very seriously and respect those that went before you. You'll know soon enough if you are supposed to be there, and if not, you'll most likely find your own way out the door.
ОтветитьI keep reading that learning coding/python is a waste of time because AI can already do it. What are your thoughts about the impact of AI on the future of Python?
ОтветитьThank you for your recommendation! I'm trying to switch my career path from IT faculty to Cyber Security Analyst.
ОтветитьDo you think its possible to make a career shift in you're early 30s while having autism for cybersecurity? I have a focused interest in numbers and am pretty good with pattern recognition.
ОтветитьSir if I get certifications like pnpt, ejppt , Google cybersecurity, Microsoft cybersecurity and the projects that u mentioned in your earlier videos, will it cover up my low cgpa of 7 for applications in foreign universities in MSc Cybersecurity???
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks a lot. Been looking into application security and was wondering what your view of the CASE cert by ec Council is and whether it's worth doing?
ОтветитьThank u so much @UnixGuy..my confusions are cleared now..right now am doing google cybersecurity course..now i will plan to learn python & cloud.. after that only will apply for job..thank u..
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💕💕💕🥳🥳🌹💕💕🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🥳🌹🥳
ОтветитьBrother is i neeed to do harvard cs50 computer science course for cyber security
ОтветитьThis is fantastic! I would really suggest that based on your experience, don’t you think, you should create a course that people can buy? A course that will encompass all these steps in order to become an excellent cybersecurity engineer? Thank you
ОтветитьIf you would come out with courses I would definitely take them! Thank you so much for this!
ОтветитьYou once stated in one of your SOC analyst career path videos, that you should have red teaming knowledge so you should take eJPT. Instead can you take the Junior Penetration Tester, Offensive Pentration Testing and Red Team Paths from TryHackMe instead? As it less of a commitment than studying for an entire certificate with the risk of failling the exam.
ОтветитьPlease where is the best place to apply for ethical hacking jobs? I live in West Africa
ОтветитьI’m a Automation Engineer currently but for QA purposes.I want to dive in the world of cybersecurity so I might go the route of Python for cybersecurity, because it aligns with automation.Should I do another course before Python in order to understand cyber security more?
ОтветитьAnd it is correct. How can you call yourself an engineer if you did not have ONE SINGLE SEMESTER of Physics ? ... calculus ? Thermodynamics and so on.
ОтветитьQuestion, what does IT mean
ОтветитьWhat an absolute gold mine of Cybersecurity training information!!
