Looks like my comparisons of the quality levels and performance may not have worked without restarting the browser (confusing since turning it on and off works without restart), so ignore that piece of the video. Power draw does increase quite a bit. So if you don't want higher energy use and fan noise while watching videos probably don't use vsr, and it definitely would impact gaming performance if you stream videos while gaming.
ОтветитьSo how should upscaled video look when handled with Nvidia VSR as well as a TV's upscaling feature set...at the same time?
Ответитьuseless, considering how much it squeezes the gpu and that it doesn't even add frames with dlss3 like in games
ОтветитьTook me nearly a minute to realize it's a prerecorded video and the audio isn't desynced 😅
Ответитьthis kind of feature can save your internet quota and bandwidth.
but i want 1 more feature, a frame interpolation.
do so many of your audience use 4k by default when youtubing/watching content? they'd use a TV as a Monitor cuz 4k monitors are prohibitive unless top 3% or something of OECD countries household earners, don't mean to nag you but do pry whether you're being tone-deaf (?) is it the expression? reading the room
ОтветитьI see no difference lol
ОтветитьThere is no such thing as Nvidia VSR. or DLSS. you see VSR is on the box of the original SONY playstation 3. You see it had this bluray disc player which they advertised as allowing you to play 1080p HD video or even up to 4k on your older or 720p or 640x480 televisions and monitors because it could play and decode vastly higher resolutions and then improve the quality on screen greatly. its how you can WATCH 8k video on a 1080p screen AMD technology from decades and decades ago.
Ответитьamd is launching something similar to vsr not?
ОтветитьCan you get this to work in Firefox? Otherwise, this is useless to me.
ОтветитьWould be useful in discord with it's file size limits
ОтветитьIts just like you use unsharp mask and noise reduction. Not there yet. Just smearing image, not making it sharper or even lookin like good 720p video...
ОтветитьWill this feature work on an rtx laptop without a mux switch as it's termed as a low intensity workload and the integrated GPU works in such situations?
Ответитьsorry but I don't see any difference anymore nowaday``
ОтветитьVsr still not released for Nvidia studio driver, only gaming driver??...wondering when it will be...
ОтветитьIt makes a huge difference with removing compression and that blocky noise. That's the best thing about this feature imo.
ОтветитьWould this come to other browsers such as Brave and fire fox?
Ответитьwaiting for frame generation
Ответитьbut when it will be available for gnu/linux
ОтветитьIs this feature going to be added for video players and editors as well?
ОтветитьUsing Geforce Experience performance monitor, which shows all the metrics like clocks, temps, util and GPU power. The clocks fluctuate a lot and so does GPU Util. Power consumption doesn't really go above 30 watt at least watching this video full screen. And temps at 42C.
I have a 4090 to clarify.
But I don't know how good it is for the GPU to constantly go up and down in clock speeds like that? I mean it's not drawing tons of power so it's not bad that way. Just seems like it's 500mhz clock then 2550mhz and then 200mhz and up again, within seconds. But temps and power remain pretty stable.
I also don't know how much of a benefit it really provides. I think I might drop it to 3 instead of 4. My TV already does good image scaling with "reality creation".
I have that turned on in my Nvidia Control panel video settings as I watch the video. So I don't think I see much of a difference because it's upscaling both sides anyway, loll. I am to lazy to turn it off.
I don't think however it's some kind of magic bullet, it works but it's not perfect. And yes I notice at times that "selfie" camera beauty smoothing as well on occasion. I personally find that the wrong approach because it loses the sharpness detail you otherwise get at 4K. So it's defeating the purpose. But hey, it's something.
tbh i don't see any difference at all
ОтветитьThisbis life changing in places like mine, due to bad internet I'm forced to watch content on 360/480/720p and using vsr it made a huge difference. Especially on animes haha it really looks like watching at least 2k content
ОтветитьMeh, if it doesn’t improve gaming I don’t really care a whole lot
ОтветитьWhy didn't this guy just use clear english to show which panes were "upscaled" and which one wasn't? Convulsed and unnecessary. All 3 panes look similar and the wording used is also similar. Does he not have a peer review system in place to help him catch this type of sillyness?
Ответитьthe crazy part: my mobile 3080ti uses less resources playing a video at 4k than playing 1080p upscaled to 4k. Its an interesting concept, but they definitely need to find a way to refine it
ОтветитьOne thing the Nvidia website doesn't tell you but for some reason it is written under "help/support" is to change under windows "graphics settigs" Chrome to "high performance". Don't know if it's placebo but doing this makes it better in my opinion.
ОтветитьSorry no the one on the right looks like 1080p. You can keep saying vsr 4 to 4k yet each one looks almost exactly like the one on the left.
Ответить3060Ti VSR +90W on GPU and clocks for 3D
Ответитьrtx vsr perform so bad i tried 720p to 1080p and my laptop 3050 is maxed out 99%
ОтветитьSuper Resolution works well. I'm not sure if it is worth my 3080 running 20c hotter all the time and the fans running at 1900 rpm constantly. Without SR enabled they never turn on unless I'm gaming. It seems like the life of the gpu will be diminished greatly. I don't see how it couldn't considering it is working pretty hard with SR enabled.
ОтветитьLeft - much better
ОтветитьI noticed that the left side video game its a bit laggy and the right one its smooth, its better when its smooth thos , same fps as well
ОтветитьI’m watching this on my phone at 720p. What’s the point?
ОтветитьI find it odd that they're marketing this for streams. What about all the time? I have lots of low quality offline videos I'd like to upscale. Older anime are especially hard to watch if they haven't been remastered in HD.
ОтветитьLiterally cannot tell the difference. But then I am using an old cheap monitor.
ОтветитьI'm watching this vsr video of a 720p video upscaled to 4k at 720p upscaled to 1080p with vsr
Ответитьwhat indicator to see if the VSR active?
ОтветитьI dislike the smoothing.
Ответитьbro i'm watching a 360p and looks not that bad lol
Ответитьlooks good
Ответитьanother feature no one asked for from a company that is over charging for cards that barely perform better than the last generation. Generated frames are not real frames.
Ответить
