The real Cayde-6 died long ago but his body was never found that why they only have his Memorial placed on the tower, Cayde was actually trapped in the darkness and so on…. And he never died actually, Ive heard this from people that have connections with Bungie

Here's my guess. This is the Cayde that was "locked and loaded" for resurrection before his ghost was killed. He just... never got transmatted into place.

Because the way I remember the lore, Ghosts pull off resurrections by pulling us from a potential timeline where we survived. Since this portal and final shape nonsense is probably dealing with timelines, it'd fit that an unrealized resurrection would be wherever the portal leads.


As I said, just a guess.

I have a thought, remember it seemed like out of panic the traveler brought back nezerac and nezerac was also effected by the traveler so my idea is what is light does not die but just gets returned to the traveler since light is an energy source we feed off of

his weapon and eyes have the same effect with traveler's chosen siderarm when it gets stacks. SO... we can all assume..cayde.. is.. "traveler's chosen" ..and thats why he brought him back baby.

IMO every dead light wielder and those who fell at our hand are in there. Ghaul oryx riven ect. The reason the witness wants inside is becuz hes running out of henchmen. if they all come back as lightwielders.. he looses.

My only guess is that when the witness created the portal and entered the traveler, The traveler started making "Guardians", that died in the outside, world back to defend itself from the witness. The Ghost has always been the connection the the Traveler (Light), So it makes sense that the "data" collected from the ghosts/guardians experiences get returned to the traveler once they die for good. I just hope they make his first appearance in game one hell of an entrance. After all, We all know the value of a grand entrance.

Funny thing is where is Zavala did he die before going inside the Traveler?

Maybe inside the traveler is where dead guardians go, maybe like their consciousness or something cause Cayde seems very different than the one who was alive. Imagine meeting and interacting with legendary guardians we’ve only read/heard about. That’d be incredible.

Ok they got me with this teaser, but they still need to deliver 10/10 DLC for this last one for the arc.

It appears based on the background that the witness opened the veil into the traveler. So like a portal, ikora went through and ended up finding cayde. Look at his weapon and eyes, he appears to be held together by the veil/light from the traveler and once it closes or he leaves through the veil, he'll be gone again. Or who knows maybe he can leave and fight one last time as a form of revenge on the darkness until the veil closes. Im hoping this isn't true but it seems very likely
