The simulator pilots knew what was coming and were prepared for it and had their reaction planned. the pilots in the actual disaster got blindsided, they barely understood what was going on, They were panicking and losing their shit to the point rational decision making was impossible.

From my experience with this airline, I would confirm that Air Asia is the worst airline business ever. Service, price and responsibility scope are all bad. They pretend to sell the cheap ticket but actually it's not, moreover, once add up luggage cost and in flight meal, the price is equal to full service airline but in flight service and customer service are far worst. They don't responsible to any luggage lost or damage. It's not way to contact or claim with the company. Air Asia rips off the customer with low cost image which eventually is not true at all. The worst regional airline ever is Air Asia.

Pitot tube is a bad engineering device to measure speed of an airplane, do they still use it?

There are 2 obvious similarities in both AF and Air Asia accidents. Severe weather and potential icing of pitot tubes and an Airbus with joystick. There are boeings flying thru similar weather but none of them has crashed.

Has to be some solution. But this is dredging up a memory from some time back. EU banned Indonesian airlines for years from its airspace. Too many needless cases of bad aviation. I AM remembering that correctly, true? These pilots do not seem dubious. But then there's what they did. Climbing that fast? Is that what good trainers tell pilots to do? If over 80% of accidents are down to human error then the best solution is to just get rid of the humans! Computer systems are far more reliable than humans could ever be! A computer might make a mistake once in 10 thousand attempts but a human will make the same mistake nearly 1/200 times!

There is a reason why cars are much much more dangerous than airplanes and automation is the absolute best reason!

If we could make planes fly themselves without any human interaction except maybe on the ground! Then we could probably cut the number of aircraft accidents by half if not more!

I have seen that video of the freight plane stalling multiple times; it never ceases to have an effect on me. Knowing that those people only have seconds is so sad.

My Sunday School teacher said that this only happens to godless heathens - and I guess the stats speak for themselves! He also said that planes crash when they reach the edge of the flat earth - or hit the dome that covers the earth. Again, all sounds logical.
