What is actual colour of this car ? it looks amazing.

Loved the review and commentary! The awesome looking (sarcasm on) black plastic grill looks every cent of the $25 it cost to make! Tire noise is excessive and ride a bit stiff. BMW like many automakers shut their engineers away in windowless offices when designing new cars. They work in a vacuum without interaction with actual buyers.

The more I research the more I dislike the new 2023 BMW X1. It is over-priced, for all the plastics on the car making it look even more "economy". You can't even call it an economy based on its inflated price!

Major Camera Problems with the new shape X1, mine was in the garage 7 times in 3 months, the Collison and lane departure lights come on with nothing in front, all BMW authorise is to keep re calibrating the camera, too dangerous to let my wife drive, Sold it (72 reg)

I'm kinda ashamed to admit that I like the X1. It looks good for a car of its class, and looks like the perfect little urban fighter for those people who are into that stuff.

Hey matt,.try and do a 0 -60 in the 30e..bmw always under the times so reckon it could do near 5..plus im thinking of getting one in the spring..

I have the newer 2.0lt X line auto 2020
Ride is hard, breaks snatch and I can't see all the dash through the steering wheel, seats get a bit uncomfortable after an hour.
Fit and finish top quality, gearbox brilliant. Loads of space.

its not bad , seems like bit on a noisy side

much cheaper than x3 and not much smaller (x3 has a longer hood)

Its amazing how people allow you to use their cars for the show and yet you throw pieces of the car out and mistreat their cars .

Climate control In the screen menu is always a big "No" for me. Can't beat twist dials.

Lots of info which is greatly appreciated however I wasn't impressed to see the way Matt tried to be cool or funny or whatever by throwing the luggage into the car and other examples of showing a lack of respect. I'm sure he wouldn't want to see his car treated like that

It has a version called 20i s drive with the 1.5 3 cylinder and mild hybrid that is 170 hp and it is more efficient that the 18i. With the help of low cd body it reaches its limited top speed of 233 kmh easily. It is impressive given that it is a roomy suv featuring a heavy giant opening panoramic sunroof with only 3 cylinder and just mild hybrid its not even a phev.

My 72 reg new shape X1 2.3D in for fifth time with camera issues, both yellow collison lights come on mainly when bright sunshine on screen, its pulled us in the opposite lane once, dare not let wife drive the car

Please stop getting annoyed that the rear windows don’t go all the way down, Matt. The reason is quite simple. The new X1 doesn’t have that ugly extra pane so the glass is wider. Like similarly designed cars, there isn’t enough space within the door for the glass to descend into.

Wait did you say that they pipe in noise through the speakers? I want them to noise cancel as much as possible

I went to bmw salon today and had a close look at this car, they had M version there I loved it how it looks and feels right now strongly considering buying diesel version

I watched most of your review and i love it but to be honest i just dont like to see the way throwing the suitcase..its so rude

Very high quality and beautiful car

Seriously considering one of these. They have really upped the interior game over the previous gen. Will go iX1 if buying one. Had a 20d x1 and been in a 30d x5 for past few years. But don’t need a large SUV any more so want to downsize iX3 looks expensive and old hat now compared to this. Only concern really is mediocre range and loss of the idrive knob. Touchcreen for everything is just shite.
