Takes 5 years to create a commercial product thst takes advantage of the window to open up
ОтветитьLook nib
ОтветитьAnd then another 5 years tk elpoit it in the marketplace
ОтветитьIt takes 5 years to make a product or thing and then another 5 years for that peoduct or thing to usually peak and have to move on to another sector if it starts slowing down
ОтветитьThe prototypes should use the same technology as the finished product
ОтветитьShip the prosuct early even if its bad, and on the way you will be able to change the product
ОтветитьAnyone knows the year this originally happened? Please
ОтветитьWhy didn’t I ever see this :( at the time it was filmed in Silicon Valley. ? ) weird at that time I didn’t even know about computers. While I was growing up.

ОтветитьWhat a mind on that boy!
ОтветитьBrilliant and funny
ОтветитьAll this went back in the mac.. when a ceo thinks like an engineer then you are in business.
ОтветитьThis is a little silly because, by all accounts, he was a terrible manager at Apple, which is why he was fired, and NeXT was a failure. It wasn't until after he returned to Apple that he became a good executive. The biggest lesson is perfection in the enemy of good enough.
ОтветитьMy heart is at ease again.
ОтветитьOperational Custom Applications was not the future of computing. in only 2 years from now he did an interview in 1994 where he talks about the internet. THAT was the future of computing. I wonder when and how he first discovered it.
ОтветитьSteve was a true charlatan. Anyway, the best thing that came from NeXT wasn't any of hardware but WebObjects later on.
ОтветитьAmazing analysis however, the software company response is outdated. AI is the answer to cheap software production nowadays.
ОтветитьA True Pirate
ОтветитьI listen to this video once in a while. Crazy how things go fast
ОтветитьI’ve studied Steve Jobs and all companies he was a part of at great lengths.. and many of the “Typical comments” or opinions of him and his work pain me, such as :
“Steve wasn’t an engineer, he couldn’t build anything” contrary to this popular belief, in all my research I’ve never saw Steve claim to be.. he was pretty knowledgeable though, even working as a Technician at Atari in his very early days. Not too long ago, there were some documents found from his time there working and improving on circuits. Expert level technician, no, I don’t think so from my research but still knowledgeable.
“NeXT was a failure” In my opinion it really wasn’t.. NeXT did have some profitable years.. without its advanced systems where so many things bloomed.. such as object oriented programming, the first web server was built on a next machine, etc etc.. the world we live in would probably look different without Next.. also, Next sold for nearly 500 million to apple along with I think 1.5 million shares of Apple stock to Steve.. the cash given to share holders and investors of Next..
“Steve was a bad manager”.. this one I’m on the fence about.. I never worked for him.. but I have worked at a fortune 50 company for nearly 20 years.. and sometimes being a good manager (one that truly cares about the success of their company) means pushing people really hard… and sometimes putting a bullet in the head of some projects..
