Dr. Kristen R. Bromley is a Jazz Guitar Artist and Expert. This course covers jazz guitar in exceptional detail and is designed for those new to jazz or those who have been playing for awhile. In this Lesson, which is Lesson 13 in the series, Dr. Bromley builds on what was taught in the previous lessons pertaining to improvisation by introducing how to include the b3 tone when soloing over major 6 chords. This includes how to play it and resolve it to the natural third and how to use it as a chromatic passing tone between steps 2 and 3. In addition to the explanations, Dr. Bromley demonstrates how to improvise over all 12 tonal options of the major 6 chord by progressing through the circle of 4ths with a backing track which provides 8 bars for each chord. The backing track used in the lesson is available on the channel. See the above links for help finding the backing track videos.
