Am I a Shaman? How to Know if Shamanism is Your Path

In my unimportant opinion…. One does not chase a sprit, one becomes willing to be found. It is vain of myself to label myself regarding a spiritual path, at best I might reflect my spirit, I am as recycled no different than a tree.

How did you find your teacher? I worked closely with a shamanic practitioner about 12 years ago. She has since she has past and as I continued the inner work and shamanism continues to come back to find me. Many shamanic journeys, healing ect.. I do feel the call and have been researching and learning from spirit and ofhers.. how to guide others.

You are a welcome find. I have felt lost for a long time, being pulled towards Spirit and the natural world. Any advice for finding a local teacher in Washington State my friend?

When I was a young kid adults would come up to me and tell me their problems. They would be attracted to my non-judgmental energy. I would listen to them and then make their problem my problem. I would then use my mind to focus concentrat and analyze the problem and then determine a course of action to take to solve it. This ability to focus concetrat and analyze things comes about when you become emotionally overloaded and traumatized at some point in your life. You are forced by circumstance to go beyond your emotions and use your mind for healing. As I said I was young so this traumatic event must have happened in a previous lifetime. Also a shaman has to learn to look inward and follow their intuition. There they will find those spiritual tools they will need to heal others. The problem most people have is a result of being connected to ego and not spirt. As a shaman it's my job to heal others by directing them back to their spiritual path.

I recently been told by a friend that she thinks I'm some kind of Shaman based on things I have told her about myself and crisis like awakenings that occurred to me while growing up. I would have never chosen that term for myself but I think I am understanding what it means a little bit more. Spirit is definitely the one in charge here not me. 🙏

Personal lightning strike. Do these count? I was walking near my grandmother's apartment in Little Rock, Arkansas when the wooden utility pole next to the sidewalk just a few feet away was struck by a lightning bolt. It caused a huge rumble. The pole did not shred. Another time in California, I was outside carrying an umbrella in the rain when a bolt struck nearby. The umbrella acted as an antenna, and an arc went from the umbrella pole to the side of my face, causing a shock and a little mark.

I’ve never heard of shaman before until last night during a dream. There was a lady shaman and we was going from place to place, people were shape shifting and it was almost like she was hiding me from them. People were dying and the shaman would bring some of the people back to life almost like she was teaching me what do to. The dream was so surreal I’ve never experienced anything like it in my life. I woke up and it felt like I’d been asleep for hours when I looked at the time i had only been sleeping for an hour- I woke up sweating. But I felt like this dream had a meaning but that I’m unsure of as like I said I’d never heard of a shaman before?? I know I probably sound crazy writing this I just don’t know what to make of it???

You are soo right about shaman. Shaman does involve spirits, and most people doesn't know that.

I think God has to chose you

I am forming a playlist😅I've been going through Spirit led initiation for the last 2 years...which believe me I was definitely not seeking as I knew nothing about Shamanism but am 100% certain that I have found the path that is right for me as everything my guides show me is confirmed miraculously in the natural and I have healed more in the past 2 years with this practice than the previous 20 using 'modern' trauma healing methods. It is truly life changing🙏
