Upgrading your drink package on NCL cruiselines to Premium Plus. Is it worth it?

If we already have the premium drink pack how much more would the premium plus cost us ???

I select the beverage package with the free at sea because that is the only option the free at sea had that I wanted and why I bought the trip in the first place. I didn't need the shore excursions. I book my own. Didn't need the Internet or the meal. The guest service manager did offer to apply the beverage package to my account for $1,200.00. Would you pay that for 5 days of drinks under $15? NCL pretty much ruined a planned vacation. I am quite PISSED OFF about it. There were a lot of pissed off people on the Gem out of Venice on Jun 19th. I met 4 people that said the same thing happened to them with the free at sea. NO DRINKS. How about the couple that spent $1,400 for a private tour of Venice? NCL knew 3 months before the sail date that the Gem was not going to Venice, but they didn't inform anyone about that. Why would I book another trip with NCL after what happened to me? Why would anyone book another trip with NCL? There are a lot of other cruise companies out there that care more about the customer than NCL.

This is probably the 9th video I've watched on the Premium drink upgrade, and the FIRST one that made simple sense. All the other videos just parroted the web page, which is so confusing to begin with. Thank you so much!!! You two are great! Now I plan to upgrade!

I upgraded on my upcoming cruise. I think it will be well worth it. The package included unlimited Wi-Fi and 2 more specialty restaurants dining credits. I am really looking forward to it. I also like just the ease of use factor just get and order pretty much whatever you want. I personally will have at least 2 glasses of Yellow Label a day so I can feel like I am getting my monies worth.

I booked Alaska on bliss in April and it’s $343 pp! Almost $100 more than you paid.

Do they let you take the bottle of wine with you if you don't finish it?

Thanks for the review! We are doing an 11 day Prima and decided to get the Free at Sea PLUS which includes the Premium Drink package but also unlimited wifi with Streaming, additional specialty dining and $50 off 2nd person excursions and as we are port intensive we will have lots of excursions.

You can get free water to go with your drinks by bringing a bottle and tipping your bartender when you drink, if you don't go with the drink package.

Wow, my favorite is Veuve Clicquot and I would get a bottle with dinner and glasses at any time? If they have a cheese platter I would be wearing a beret by the end of the week.

I have seen bubly sparkling water on the ship's drink menus(the pepsi brand that comes in a can). Does anyone know if you have to upgrade to premium plus for this?

For as many top shelf drinks I would get while onboard, and that would not be many, I would rather just pay the difference when I get anything top shelf!

Ice wine is not made with glaciers. Lol. The wine makers press the grapes after the first frost. Love you guys. Appreciate the down to earth reviews.

U2 are the only folks I know who had any drink package, & were satisfied with it,as even the adult non drinkers[of alcohol]in same cabin must buy a drink package,that is a rip-off in majority of cruisers opinions,as U can't share one drink package,it's a BIG Money maker for All Cruise lines that have those drink `Packages; I'm glad U2 enjoyed & got Your Moneys worth..as Drinks on Board All Ships are overpriced!..$35 glasses of Wine/Champagne?..why?..cheaper brands have same `effect' ..right? but thanks for Your opinions, it shows that not everyone complains about those`packages'...& of course:Bon Voyage! BTW: Lady You must imbibe LOTSA Coffee...& I mean LOTS![LOL!]

Just got back from an NCL cruise and it was 100% worth it. Go for the top shelf liquor every time. Take advantage of that Starbucks and Aqua Panna as well. You def get your money’s worth like that

What about soda…does either package cover soda? I am so confused.

Recently returned from an NCL cruise. I had premium plus and didn’t know Starbucks was included! I’ll know for the next cruise. Love premium plus for Prosecco and good sparkling wine along with Aqua Panna. Thx for the tips!

I'm debating the same upgrade right now. I'm a bourbon guy mostly but even the upgraded package doesn't really include great bourbons, so the debate goes on. What is the charge for a bottle of regular water and/or what does a coffee cost at Starbucks. My girlfriend isn't much a of a wine drinker, sadly, but having the chance to have a nice bottle at dinner would be nice, even if it's mostly me drinking it. Great video, very informative.
