i really appreciate this lady's enthusiasm in learning more about sg but quite a lot of it is inaccurate... it's okay there is always opportunity to learn! firstly singaporeans never add vinegar to their eggs! That's soy sauce... and also i dont think arranged marriages are still the 'tradition' amongst the singaporean chinese population today, even amongst the wealthy. Sure, people may introduce friends/family to others (as most cultures do too), but it's definitely not the norm to 'arrange' marriage or anything really - it's way too much pressure lol. the history of food/places she cited sounds kinda murky too (probably 50% right) and the translation for the chicken rice stall is wrong, haha
ОтветитьArranged marriage is bad but onlyfans flashing is modernity ?
ОтветитьTian Tian doesn't translate to small helloooo
ОтветитьJapanese sex slaves 'Karayuki-san' usually plied their trade in the Bugis area, not in Chinatown.
ОтветитьBTW, Tian Tian does not translate to small. It just means day to day or daily or even everyday. Never heard of chicken rice being wrapped in banana leaves before during the olden days. Never…..! Does not agree with this. 😮
ОтветитьWe do not add vinegar to our half-boiled eggs. It’s dark soya sauce that you are adding. Maybe the Dutch are adding vinegar to their eggs.
ОтветитьThe breakfast set w eggs.. we dont put vinegar. Its dark soya sauce and pepper:)
ОтветитьThankyou for a lovely video. I was in Singapore 15 yrs ago in 2008, and twice before that in 1978 and 2006…each time was only for a few days. I’m so looking forward to seeing everything there again next month! I’m also going on a four night cruise to Penang and Phuket which will be fantastic to visit again after many years. I’ll be travelling solo and cannot wait. Warmest regards from Perth Western Australia
ОтветитьSuper interesting! From my memory, it's 25% actually as minimum deposit when you buy a property? and am pretty sure the soft boiled eggs at the beginning is with a dark soya sauce, not vinegar?
ОтветитьGreat way to introduce Singapore lifestyle, however from what she said , I could feel that she just hang out with expats past 14 years not the local singaporean.
Ответить"Tian Tian" actually means "Daily". But it may come across as "Dian Dian" so maybe that's where the mistranslation came from =)?
ОтветитьTian means small? It means sky! How dare she!!! Flip table
ОтветитьThe Chibese of SG is slowly and gradually losing their heritage and culture, especially their dialects. At 70, I am third generation of Chinese immigrants. The 4th generation have totally lost their ability to speak dialects, some can't even write their names in Chinese. The whole place is too westernised.
ОтветитьTian Tian does not mean small, it means "daily"
ОтветитьMany American hot breakfast is very heavy also.
ОтветитьDoes she find sg boys attractive?
