I'm from Denmark and still 8 years later I didn't now the Nordic Council was a thing🤦
ОтветитьTime to redo those EU explainers. there have been some changes...
ОтветитьCan you do the Icelandic horses story? Please, pretty please
ОтветитьYour explanation for Finland's status is vague at best.
Finland is only excluded because of it's language, which is very much not Germanic, but Uralic alongside Estonian and Hungarian.
Finland has never been associated with the Baltics, only Estonia as they are ethnic brother tribes. Latvia and Lithuania are not related to Finns linguistically or ethnically.
Lastly, FInland's historical ties with Sweden are far bigger than those with Russia. Of the time Finland has existed as an entity, which is around 800 years, 600 of that was as a part of the Swedish Empire as an equal region with every other, excluding language rights. Finland was only in a personal union with Russia for around a century, after which it gained it's independence.
As for today, well Finland and Sweden are politically far more connected than Sweden is with any of it's other neighbors. And culturally, well the only difference one would notice is the language.
I am Swede
ОтветитьThanks for teaching me new stuff about my own country
ОтветитьI'm afraid basically EVERY semi-competent organisation with a set logo has rules about it somehere

and remain sovereign countries.
ОтветитьAs a scandinavian. I can say we live on earth
ОтветитьNext time I get into a fight with a Norwegian/Swedish/Finnish I'm going to call them Fennoscandian
ОтветитьWhat about every country that uses the Nordic cross on their flag? That be a fun video to talk about a lot of niche islands
ОтветитьScandinavia belongs to the nords.
ОтветитьAs a Norwegian, mid 40s, I am fairly confident the word "Fennoscandia" has never passed my lips.
ОтветитьIm apparently 9.1% Scandinavian and 0.9% Finnish
ОтветитьWhat music is this?
ОтветитьYeah we are great
ОтветитьOh boy, I think you made a few people unhappy xd
You also haven’t mentioned Schleswig and Holstein, which was also a part of Scandinavia, till mid 19th century. I mean it ended in war, to clearing that it isn’t anymore, but you can see here that it’s not so easy via regional definition.
Sweden are producing fighter airplanes. J29 in Kongo AJ 32 Lansen ,J35 Darken , AJ 37 Viggen and JAS Gripen. Exported to Brasilia ,South Africa , Thailand. J35 , Denmark, Austria. Finland. Sorry we don't have any airforce . Only 3 air flotilla remains . We had 2000 of these fantastic planes .
ОтветитьNorway fun fact.
One of the highest ranking members of the Norwegian military is a Penguin.
I think it's strange that Norwegian came from Icelandic when it's more or less a hybrid between Danish and Swedish almost. As a matter of fact, Norwegian is closer to Swedish and Danish than any of the other languages.
Ответить" Horda Hurda Harda CHICKEN " The Swedish Chef from The Muppets. 😁
ОтветитьExcuse me, what was that about armored bears?
ОтветитьI feel so special for understanding that Golden Compass reference
ОтветитьI realise this is an old video... but we need to know about the Icelandic horses.
ОтветитьThe vikings that settled Greenland where interestingly enough Norwegian-Icelandic not Danish. Denmark got control over the island from Norway in the 1400's when they became a "union". This was mostly do to a weakened Norway bc of the Black Death.
ОтветитьI understand you have done a lot of research on this but wasn’t Finland excluded because it was part of Sweden for hundreds of years?
ОтветитьArmed bears? Armored bears?
ОтветитьWhat if i call it nordscandia?
ОтветитьYour videos are really useful for making trivia questions, and for personal learning!
ОтветитьI’m more interested to know if any Scandinavians believe in their old Norse religion and worship Odin and Thor and other gods still
Ответить"Though the Baltic sisters do get to sit with them"
ESTONIA CAN INTO NORDIC
blond vikings huh, interesting
ОтветитьHuh, neat.
...sorry what was that about armored bears?
That Scania arrow though.. 🤦♂️
ОтветитьScotland?
ОтветитьI want to know about the horses!
ОтветитьChange my mind the nordic countries are the best to live in
ОтветитьTell me more about the horses 👀
ОтветитьIs he high or me.?? 😵
Ответить"The nordic countries" does make the most sense, but that term doesn't explain why Norway's boats have barcodes! ("so they can Scandinavian")
ОтветитьI WOULD LIKE A VIDEO ON THE HORSES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьAnd now imagine if Scandinavia would have been one country, including Finland and the Baltic countries, also some parts of northern Germany 😉
ОтветитьFew people know that the Nordic co-operation started in 845 when Vikings from Sweden, Norway and Denmark arranged a murdering, raping and looting journey to middle Europe. Apparently there were also wind raisers from Finland on those ships which is of course the most important job because at those times they didn't have motors and how else you're going to get to middle Europe but by sailing? You could row of course but Vikings were very lazy people and I think they would've just stayed at home without the Finns.
ОтветитьSimple answer Iceland Sweden Denmark Norway and Finland
Ответить- Kalmar:
Denmark + Norway + Sweden.
- Fenoscandia:
Finland + Norway + Sweden + Murmansk + Karelia
- Nordic countries:
Iceland + Greenland + Finland + Sweden + Denmark + Norway + Faro islands.
- Scandinavia:
Denmark + Sweden + Norway + Finland.
ok so where's the horse story now
