Hi! Since you made this video 3 years ago - do you still use the same thread? I just purchased the 1181n and am excited to start using it!! I’m just wondering if you buy other thread now. Thank you!

I purchased a used industrial machine and yeah the learning curve is real 😫. Basically tex 70 or 92 is a good standard. And nylon is the only way to go.

Hi Lauren, I've watched this video quite a few times & learn so much each time I do. I just got my Juki DU-1181n and had the servo motor and Stitch regulator installed for me and now I'm ready to sew....BUT, I'm not sure what setting to set the Motor to?? Do you know of a video that shows how to do that & what setting it should be at? I've seen P-1 in some videos but don't know how to get it to that setting!! Any help from anyone is appreciated.

Do you use the same thread top and bottom or do you use a thinner thread in your bobbin?

Thanks for your Chanel. I am learning a lot. I actually bought my very first industrial sewing machine two days ago and I am so excited 🤪 may she arrives next week… a Jack JK-H6. They tell me to use a 25 thick thread. But I think may it’s enough an 80-100 thickness.
OMG I need to learn all about to use industrial machines! I am so appreciate for your videos. I love your bags. Thank so much. Best regards from Ibiza, Spain 🥰

Hello I just came upon your video. Thank you. Good info. So I just bought a juki ddl8700. I wanted to buy one with walking foot, but was convinced that I wouldn't need it. But I would like to sew vinyl or leather if the need came up. Will this machine do it?

#1 on the list is a top quality surge protector that is grounded. Bought one at Walmart for $28. A power strip is NOT a surge protector.

Omg so I have watched many of your videos, this one recently because I just got the same machine. Got of the phone With the tech from the company I bought it from. When I told him what thread I ordered that you recommended in this video,and the needle, He told me there is no way possible anybody using a Juki is using that thread. He also said aside 19 needle wasn’t real. Not sure where to go with this. Definitely won’t be calling the tech again.

I also just purchase the Juki 1181n - and was wondering what thickness thread do you use for your bobbins. I purchased prewound bobbins and they work well but still would like to wind my own. Thank you

@LuvMyCardiKids - 15.05.2021 21:35

I agree. Good thread should not cause a lot of fluff. Causing fluff means that they've used shorter staple cotton fibers to make the thread wrap. Its cheaper to use the short staple cotton than the extra long and the shorter fibers will shred a lot more than the long or extra long will.

Thank you, Lauren. After much consideration, asking countless questions of the rep I was working with between the du1811n and the 1541S, I eventually chose the 1811; mostly because of what I see you doing with your machine and because of what I plan on doing for my purposes. I have the 8700 and I love it, but it was time to upgrade to one that can handle the number of layers I need to complete my jobs professionally. I appreciate you sharing what was needed for my new sewing machine: coming in a few weeks! I searched everywhere for the information and I ran into your video. You're a gem and you motivate me to do better!

Hi Lauren...on your Juki 1181 machine is it hard to turn the handwheel? Also, do you have a needle up/down feature or is that an add-on? I’ve been watching so many videos on multiple machines but can’t seem to find an answer to these two questions. Thank you so much for your help!!! Love your videos btw!!! Working on my first Momexa bag and I’m so glad to be able to watch your videos on this bag.

Needle size makes your thread fluff because it is to small for the thread being used

Dear Lauren, I'm having difficulty finding Amann thread retail! I've contacted Amannusa and Their distributor DirectTex but you have to have a business to buy wholesale. I am not a business, just want a few spools of Amann Tex 70 bonded nylon or Tex 90 bonded polyester. I need a retail outlet or website to shop. Thank you.
