If anyone is having problems entering DFU mode, make sure you are NOT using a USB-C to lightning cable. You CANNOT enter DFU mode unless you are using a USB-A (aka "normal" USB or the style that came with the phone) to lightning cable.

way easier to just turn it off and hold down volume down while inserting the kable
