Updates from rs3 (the actual original of the game) got it there... people want osrs to be rs3 with out the combat so they got it.. cry more to anyone who thinks different
Ответить“ people only play for nostalgia “ is factually incorrect, i started playing in 2018 and hadn’t heard of the game until 2016.
ОтветитьYou reviewed your peer review of his peer review.
ОтветитьJ1mmy, you're the only person I'll watch doing sponsor reads, you make them so fucking awesome. Just like the rest of your content!
ОтветитьThanks for standing up for the community, that’s what makes RuneScape great.
ОтветитьOf course it doesn't. They keep trying to add skills that never existed. My childhood game didnt involve sailing, and I am no longer interested in the game.
Should have just been a minigame and not a skill. If it was a minigame, people could choose to do it if the rewards were worth their time. Now its just gatekeeping a max cape. Nty. No more OSRS for me. Have fun with Agility 2.
The game died a long time ago. The uploader needs to move on.
ОтветитьThere’s nostalgia videos like
I kasoi I
Njr99
Frozen fury
'simple to play, difficult to master.' 'you never quit, you only take breaks.' there are only two games that i've ever played that these two statements apply to. counter-strike and runescape.
ОтветитьI think osrs by definition is successful due to nostalgia, but the continuing success after it is credited to the game itself. Saying nostalgia has no part in it is in my eyes just ignorant because the outcry to get OSRS to actually run is the whole reason it even exists now, given everyone seemed to hate rs3
ОтветитьAs someone who took a 10-year break..... after playing from 05-14.... this game is honestly the best MMO hands down. I've played WoW which I honestly enjoyed and invested time in. Now you tell me I can farm run , cut trees and fly fish on the go. STOP! #1 by a landslide.
ОтветитьAmazing video J1mmy! loved the montage bit especially :D
ОтветитьGoat video
Ответитьi think jimmy likes runescape a lot
ОтветитьNostalgia for me is very limited in this game. When I played it as a kid, I was never p2p, didn't achieve much. Didn't even play that much, nor regularly. Yet somehow after I started tracking my RuneLite hours, I clocked in 10h a day for 6 months straight (student). Oops.
Nostalgia is running for your life from a goblin, cutting oaks in Varrock. OSRS is everything else.
As someone who can't stand OSRS but keeps trying to enjoy it, can't agree more.
It was my first online game ever, people in class all played it (British person, btw) and I had an absolute blast and was blown away by pretty much everything. I remember lighting my first logs on tutorial island and then logging off because I took so long making my character.
Logging on the next day, finishing the tutorial, taking out the paper list to add all my friends, hopping worlds to see my friends online. What a great time.
Game isn't attractive at all now when I finally get to play. I don't have time for my character to walk everywhere, Smithing can suck my nut and the min-maxing exp is boring as fuck.
Loved it as a kid, hate it as an adult- Zero nostalgia here, just try it out every couple years to see why people play it.
Geez, asmon is so dumb.
ОтветитьAs one who has played this game off and on since I was 14 starting in 2005 and has been in arguments with friends on which is better wow or runescape I absolutely loved it when you said " just ask WOW players they're right here."
Ответить🤓
Ответитьhave never had nostalgia for this game, but gave f2p a try a few months back and had a blast finishing the quests. Just recently got membership and have been having a lot of fun. I've been having fun just doing whatever I felt like that day not really worrying about the most optimal grinding possible, so I absolutely agree with the vid.
ОтветитьCan’t believe you did you best friend like that in GG 😂😂 we have missed you this season
Ответитьare u okay bro?? u look like u aint been eating
ОтветитьI joined RS in 2001 as an 11 year old on Miniclip. I brought my first wife to RS and helped her get her first 99. I brought my daughter's mother to RS and helped her get her first 99 and my new current wife I've been with for 6 years is on there with me and I'm just letting her enjoy the game. She has stage 3 bone cancer and she won't have her right arm for much longer. Runescape has always been in my life I've introduced it to new people too. They might not understand it but it's a comfort thing.
Ответитьit`s a good video with a lot of good points for sure. I however started to play osrs with 3 other irl friends of mine because of Nostalgia. if it wasn`t for Nostalgia, my friends and I wouldn`t have started in the first place.
I love the video and and J1mmy, however for me and my friends, we started to play again because of nostalgia.
Looking forward to the next video, king!
We need by realese
ОтветитьUhhh.....Don't they continually update this game every week😂? The only nostalgic part of OSRS for me is the age of my account. 😅....
ОтветитьDMM All Stars is a great example of this. The content was off the chain and got so many views
ОтветитьIf only they would give us 2009 scape that was peak in my opinion
ОтветитьOnly thing I disagree w is the bot % it’s def closer to 50 or maybe more but still the goat game
ОтветитьI think if osrs came out today, people would just try it less, it would be harder for it to gain popularity, maybe prevent it from exploding like it did. But not because it's any worse than if it came out when it actually did. Just that people wouldn't give it the chance it deserves.
Great video J1mmy. Love your narrating, as always !
You killed it man. So well done.
ОтветитьGreat to see you in 'The Games', tremendous performance.
ОтветитьGreat games are timeless.
ОтветитьYou don’t have to admit it but nostalgia will always be a driving factor in why RuneScape remains prevalent.
ОтветитьAs a guy who's been playing wow and the original osrs, i can say this much, playing wow actively for so long and going to 2013 OSRS is definitely a different way of playing then it was back then (still mad i got scammed for my rune kiteshield in 2004, damn trim scam..) OSRS is a bit superior between the two, OSRS has more endgame then WoW has nowadays, even casuals could just play this instead and feel more rewarded, for wow it stops at one point, unless u wanna farm 30-40k+ transmogs in the game.
Ответитьi cant like I feel like bots make up more of the playercount nowadays, game has gotten so quiet
ОтветитьI used to love RuneScape in the past… but can’t get into it anymore.
ОтветитьAs someone who started playing in 2022 I have no nostalgia for this game what so ever and I am now 300 hours into a group ironman.
ОтветитьIts the circle of life.. RuneScape first...into WoW back into OSRS. I still remember when they moved onto new RuneScape..give me my 99 WC back!
ОтветитьAsmongold just says shit
ОтветитьThat outro was cold as fuck. 😂
ОтветитьFrom the amazing ad down to the witty takes. bro I have been a have for a while now, great video. Thanks for being an OSRS content creator dude.
ОтветитьYour hello fresh advert was hilarious!
ОтветитьEverybody loves J1mmy
ОтветитьWe need ososrs
ОтветитьGreat video reply :D
Love ur vids
Asmon's response to this video was wholly unsatisfying and entirely held up by his own malformed preconceptions as a world of warcraft player. It makes absolutely no sense for Runescape to be held up by nostalgia. The numbers are insane, the retention rate is insane, the amount of new players coming into the game is insane, the updates are insane. As a WoW player myself, I can kind of see why Asmongold's view is tainted in this way. In WoW, all content is outdated each expansion (each major patch nowadays), so it's hard to understand what a game that doesn't function this way is like. It's hard to imagine a single update ruining the game, because that's basically every WoW patch in retail. Under such assumptions, it's understandable to see the "oldschool" title and think "Oh, this is an old version of the game released for nostalgia".
With WoW, it absolutely is propped up with nostalgia. With OSRS, nobody actually wanted a 2007 version. They would have preferred a ~2011 or pre-eoc 2012 version, but 2007 was the best Jagex was going to give them.
The distinctions get even more vast when you consider Vanilla WoW released in 2004 and Classic WoW only just released in like 2019, whereas 2007 runescape happened in.. well.. 2007, and OSRS released in 2013.
Nostalgia brought us back, but what keeps it going is the amazing community and the mods/devs listening to the community and having them play an active role in the development of the game. I am not familiar with any other game where the content is almost entirely dependent on the players voting for it.
I think what also really helped is the initial dev team for osrs had almost no oversight. The were able to mess around with the community and constantly break the rules about what they were allowed to do as employees. This engagement with the community and players is what makes it such an awesome game
Ill never forget the day I first played this game, I've never put more time into any game more than this
