Clearly Eastern staff are embarrassed about working for the airline and are doing their utmost to ensure its closure. Can't come soon enough!
ОтветитьSo rude
ОтветитьGreat video Steve, me and Sally were here in Oct 2019. Memorable for the fact that Sally spent 6 nights in the main hospital due to pneumonia!!!!.
The fact that I was on my own meant I walked the city, visited all the main football stadia yes 3 of them. The park is fabulous and a great place to relax. The atocha is fabulous and was our exit to Seville to get flight home.
I would just add that the staff at the hospital were fabulous and helpful.
Would go back as there is so much to see. Thanks again Mike & Sally in Cardiff x
Im only surprised that they didnt stop you filming inside the airport. I never understand the "dont film here" attitude of so called professional businesses when they have nothing to gain and everything to lose from a bad customer experience. As an artist I have the perfect reposte though, put away the camera, get out a sketchbook and pencil and spend the whole flight drawing what happens as a diary notebook including the stroppy FA - my friends all know the rules, if you come on holiday with me youre going in the book 😂
ОтветитьAt least the door didn't falloff at 16k... so that was a bonus
ОтветитьIf you fly into Wick as a GA flyer you often get a slice of cake from the lovely lady who runs the tower. I believe her son does the refueling.
ОтветитьMuch appreciate your honest review of Eastern airways furthermore they definitely do not deserve my money. Lovely sights in Wick though.
ОтветитьOK flight crew could’ve done a little bit better. It really isn’t the end of the world. I don’t like anyone putting a camera in my face either without permission.
ОтветитьThis is a small regional airline doing mostly domestic, cheap fares from 49€. If you're going to complain about 'service' and no filming rules, think about other passengers who might not want to be filmed. Why would you spend 200€ (Pounds) on an airfare if you're not really gonna do anything at your destination, walking to and from the airport and complain about the price of snacks and parking, what's the point? Be happy the UK still offers such regional connections and get you to your destination safely. Wanna complain? Do some flying in Africa.
ОтветитьLast time I was at Inverness airport was in 1993, it has somewhat upgraded since then! I would report the cabin crew, disgusting service. I thought as long as phones are in airplane mode it’s fine. Or was it just a jobsworth?
Ответитьflew with eastern out of Aberdeen to shetlands, 10 years ago, was always a cramped flight but found the staff pleasant enough
ОтветитьIt's one thing for an airline to not allow filming but to deliver the message in that was is simply unacceptable! If that was me , I would potentially have cancelled my return booking and done it by bus/coach/train instead ! Currently Eastern Airways have a 2.1 rating on Trust pilot with 73% of reviews being 1 star
Ответитьdid a bit of digging and found this hidden among the small print on easterns website it reads as follows.
For safety reasons, we may forbid or limit the operation aboard the aircraft of electronic equipment, including, but not limited to, mobile telephones; laptop computers; personal recorders; personal radios; MP3, cassette and CD players; electronic games or transmitting devices such as radio-controlled toys and walkie-talkies. The use of hearing aids and heart pacemakers is permitted.
As a responsible employer, Eastern Airways treats the safety and security of it staff as well as its passengers with the utmost importance. Therefore it is not permitted to take photographs, or film our staff while in uniform while undertaking their job.
most airlines have this policy, but not all enforce it,
I used to do Aberdeen to Teesside and vice versa and I must say the cabin crew were the best, very attentive and smart......
ОтветитьSurely better to raise the matter with the airline before commenting on camera.
ОтветитьI'm so sorry, mate, that y'all had a horrible flight. A flight from HNL 2 LAX (Delta) I had both my dogs with flying with me and the mates in baggage KICKED one of my dogs' front teeth out they took her out of her Kennel because she was scared about flying so they tried to shut her up 😢😢
ОтветитьI'm not sure how I missed this video last year. Eastern Airways are clearly doing what their name suggests and adopting a soviet-style attitude to customer service.
ОтветитьBut did you get breakfast? 😂
Oh, and thank you for another great video and the warning about the awful Eastern customer service! 🥴
Hi Steve, just found this older video. Did you ever complain to the main office? At least file a complaint? Not sure it would be worth it, but would be interesting to know if their idea of customer service has improved in the last year.
ОтветитьSounds like a business that could do with an " undercover boss" experience
ОтветитьWhat a rude person. Definitely in need of retraining! There are ways of asking nicely.
I went through Wick in September on my tiny 50cc moped when I circumnavigated Great Britain on the 50cc.
They obviously don't want their shortcomings broadcast over the internet.
ОтветитьI have flown with Eastern maybe 20 times back and fore between Cardiff and Newcastle. I think they've discontinued the service now but I abandoned it when they changed the flight times which made flying from Bristol or via Edinburgh with a train to Newcastle a better option for me.
I have to say the cabin crew I met were all very friendly and courteous. Professional? No. But courteous.
One flight we weren't allowed off the plane in Newcastle because the cabin crew had lost a document. We were all asked to look under our seats and I was even politely asked to prove I didn't have the missing document in my suit jacket (other passengers were asked to check their handbags). After some frantic searching and head scratching, the missing piece of paper was found under the snack basket on the trolley.
Another time the flight back to Cardiff was delayed - no problem with that, it happens. One of the passengers was a very nervous flier and had taken prescribed medicine to help her with the flight. A new plane was found but it failed pre-flight checks and we had to wait for yet another aircraft. By the time that arrived the nervous person was worried her medicine had worn off but didn't want to take more (I didn't know her but she evidently just wanted someone to talk to). We boarded five hours late, and before we took off a clearly exhausted and stressed pilot came and gave us all a bollocking for being rude. It was bizzare. Everyone was tired and just wanted to go home. I hadn't seen anyone being rude and on a 29 seat plane, I'd have noticed. Then before the stewardess started the safety briefing - and remember the very nervous flier - she apologised for the delay, banged the bulkhead with her fist and said " The thing is, these old things just keep breaking down".
Most alarming was a take off from Cardiff. I'd flown with them quite a lot and was familiar with the takeoff routine, but this one morning we were at full volume from the engines while belting down the taxiway. The turn onto the runway was akin to the cornering of a 17 year old in a stolen Vauxhall Cavalier. Passenger plans don't normally lift a wing when entering a runway; this one did. But for the armrest and seat belt, I am sure I'd have been on the floor.
They even tried to bump me one time. It was Thursday and their next flight was Monday evening. I asked if they would put me on the EasyJet flight to Bristol but they said no. I asked if they'd put me up in a hotel for three nights and pay for the parking charges I would incur. After some discussion they decided the stewardess could stand and gave me her seat.
All that said, I miss Eastern Airways. The winged transit van experience, the noise from the props, a free coffee and snack, a hot towel. Happy commuting days and a long way from the sterile EasyJet flights I now have to deal with.
You look exhausted mate.
ОтветитьMaybe when you book it would be a good idea to ask if ok to film on the flight. Save problems later?
ОтветитьBETTER WITH LOGAN AIR, ONLY DOWNSIDE THERE PRICES
ОтветитьWe got your plane safely to wick, what would you like SIR, a kiss on your arse?
ОтветитьI would have questioned their attitude & in airplane mode would have pointed out im keeping it on.
If she wanted to visually see your phone was off please next time hit her with “You can believe me if not & if not get the Police if you want”.
Anymore attitude tell her to F### Off.
Rules for filming at a UK airport.
Do you need a permit. . .
Don’t think be using these flights.
ОтветитьYou still get a thumbs up from me even though you couldn't film anything :)
ОтветитьJeez what an awful flight for you! I see the company made a comment & emailed you, hopefully they have given some customer service advice to their staff and had a re-think about why they won't allow filming!
ОтветитьAhhh that's the trouble you have a nice wee job and then customers come along to spoil it for you! Pity I'd looked forward to some more shots of the J41, glad that the rest of your trip to week ,er Wick, was enjoyable.
ОтветитьJust did the day trip to Wick on Eastern, and can thankfully say the experience of was much more welcoming and friendly.
ОтветитьHello Steve ! As regular viewers of your channel, i’d like to leave a helping comment regarding the flight to Wick and the seemingly special arrival route. I used to work in the Flemish aircraft industry and as a keen aircraft spotter and regular visitor to Scotland, I found a former Jeppesen arrival chart, on which the approach procedure is printed. It’s a real chart, used by former Sabena pilots, and it shows a more extended arch around the city of Wick. Because Wick was a previous military airfield, it still uses military-type of approaches. So for runway 13 landings, the aircraft takes you on an outbound leg for the approach and you nearly fly over the north Scottish coast. By the way, there’s another you tuber that also complained - wrightfully - about unfriendly staff on the flights of Eastern Airways. To conclude : we greatly appreciate your efforts and videos, we learn a lot from it, and it gives us hope in darker times ! Lovely greetings from Jan & Anne-Marie, Antwerpen, Flanders, Belgium 👏
ОтветитьI flew with eastern airways from Gatwick to Newquey and I didn't experience anything like not filming I actually filmed videos of the lovely ATR 72 600 with a very friendly crew Onboard even on the return trip to gatwick.
ОтветитьI hade the same experience with eastern airways, 6 hours late , no,explanation , no compensation, avoid this airline
ОтветитьBugger......thats on my list. Though my mother was born in Fife she was brought up in Wick. So, when she passed away recently she left instructions her ashes should be scattered in Caithness. Remembering the loooooong loooooong drive of my childhood from Birmingham to Caithness i was planning a flight to Aberdeen then onto Wick. Was going to be a not great trip as it was but this seams horrendous......great upload as usual Steve.
Ответитьlancolm tresor - sweet, very powerful!
ОтветитьOhio State BOO!
ОтветитьWell done you giving an honest review. Embarrassing that you had put up with that. Needs sorted out.
ОтветитьMy folks got on at Wick, and got off at SanDiego.
I think might of changed, but I can't remember.
What harm would a go pro do?
ОтветитьWhit? Nae even a Tunnocks!
ОтветитьSo they wouldnt even let you film out the window?! Blimey. Miserable buggers!
Ответитьthe wind maybe
ОтветитьI Don,t know why but I have never seen a Eastern airlines plane I,m right next to Aberdeen and Inverness
Ответить
