I have a dog, I am NOT its father!!!!!!!! I am its owner and master that is my non-biological relationship with an animal and the same applies to all people who own pets of any sort.. I feed it, I wash it and clean up its droppings and, when it was young enough I took it for long walks now she is seventeen years old and happy to be sedentary and sleep most of the time and that, too is ok by me.
The slushy, sentimental anthropomorphic attitude to animals does them, or their owners no good at all..
