Keeping our nails nice and clean is super important in my opinion when you're performing magic. People are watching your hands a lot and you do not want to have those dirty nails. Especially if you're performing magic in a restaurant or any other environment where people are eating. It might seem like something that doesn't matter too much, but it does.
