Aside from there goofy ah helmet maxtac is badass

that's quite a harrowing realization, what if Regina has been using us to keep the cyberpsychos alive so they can be transferred to the MaxTac program, but it could be argued either way, since she's not with MaxTac

A friend of mine came up with a theory about James that I honestly adore and fits with what we see in Cyberpunk 2077.

When you go around hunting Cyber-psychos, you need to find out just WHAT made them snap and send the detes to Regina.

Now, mind you, though I think the implants DO help a BIT to cause Cyber-psychosis, it seems like what REALLY causes it is the STRESS these people go through. Like... going postal basically. Life constantly crushing on top of them will eventually have their toll.

Now, as for the theory he came up with James:

It wasn't simply a "burst of violence". James was way too well prepared. He bought a whole ARSENAL with him. When we first see him, he's looking down, as if he's internally preparing himself for something big. Yes, we do believe he's suffering from Cyber-Psychosis, but not the "kill everything in sight" type.

What my friend theorized is that James pretty much committed "suicide by cop".

James went all the way to the Corpo Plaza, armed to teeth, apparently not having killed anybody on his way there. And only truly started killing once he found some police.

Now, with all the crime and killings in Night City, there's not always a GARUANTEE the police will show up to stop them. You can see that as you play the Cyberpsycho missions in Cyberpunk 2077, neither the police NOR Max-Tac show up before V, which suggests that the Police would rather not get involved and Max-Tac takes a while to get notified. Now, the Police does show up every once in a while in the form of corpses in a FEW Cyberpsycho sightings, but not all, so James decides to make the process quicker and just go right for somewhere with high police activity to start his massacre, aimed SOLELY at cops by the way, which would prompt the Police to call Max-Tac WAY faster than they normally would.

Now, you must be wondering "Okay, if James wanted to die so bad, why didn't he just off himself?"

We see the very reason the moment the police starts firing at James. He was essentially bullet-proof. Nothing they did could even BEGIN to damage him at all, no matter how many rounds they spent on him. We had a fuckton of cops just magdumping him and he quite literally did not even flinch. Not to mention that considering his use of the sandervistan, and his fighting style, along with body language, he's still calm and somewhat AWARE of what he's doing. It doesn't look like a "manic episode", he seems like he's in full control of his body during this mess.

Thing is: Because his body is essentially a TANK now, normal weapons just won't do. He can't just pop a bullet in his own head because it'll just bounce off. He KNOWS Max-Tac is the only thing that can put him out of his misery and he KNOWS he has to do something BIG for Max-Tac to take notice and come end him. Which is why we think when got taken down by Max-Tac, instead of trying to escape in any way, like he was so expertedly using his Sandervistan before Max-Tac's arrival, he just started shooting at will, even though his bullets were clearly doing jack to Max-Tac's advanced armor.

It really puts into perspective how interesting Cyber-Psychos are. All the years in the military probably made the guy snap and decide to suicide by Max-Tac.

Something related to Maxtac:
You can get Maxtac armor, but only if you romance Judy, and for that, you must play as a Female V.
Not female, immediately no armor. Not romancing Judy, no armor.

This reminds me of anime Psycho Pass, not going to go into details in order not to spoil too much of the ending. Amazing first season, okay movie, meh 2nd season. 1st season is a complete package, so just watch that.

i'd love to see if the second cyberpunk game will let us join maxtac or allow us an ending where we do go cyberpsycho getting a brief time where all of our insane cyberware is usable to a higher level with no cooldown just for maxtac to come down and end our character for good or bring us into a different story as a maxtac officer.
here's hoping Orion is CDPR's chance to flesh the world out even more

I’ve just beat Judy’s story line to get the maxtac outfit and I found out you needed to be a female V to actually get it 😂

They send in a team of borderline cyberpsychos to fight actual cyberpsychos .

I always thought that C-Swat was like, upgraded Swat. But MaxTac refers to the guys who exclusively deal with cyberpsychos

As someone with schizophrenia, and has the joy of experiencing psychosis, within my day to day life, Maxtac is a strange bunch. Terrifying persecutors, righteous defenders, hopeful purpose, all and yet none, how interesting

To be a little bit more serious, I found it so bad that maxtac ariving at 4 police stars doesn't mean an mandatory death.... they are way to easy to take care off....

When that cyber psycho attacks you in the the clothes shop it’s revealed that one of the maxtac responders used to be a cyber psycho but was reconditioned and forced to be in maxtac. It would’ve been a cool twist to discover that Regina only wanted you to let the cyberpsychos live so she could sell them to be used in maxtac

Really would love to see netflix continue with the cyberpunk series. Each season could focus on a character from a different group

Love these videos. I liked truma team as well. Maybe a few more on different corps like arasaka or millitec

Yeah they are op but in game i killed them 4times with my monowires😅

I just feel like they could have made them stronger in game level 50 V's can wipe squads of them with little trouble. Same with Smasher I want to be afraid of the big bad boogeyman of night city but I had more trouble with those psychos in exosuits. I'm playing on the highest difficulty but maybe phantom liberty will upgrade them.

would be insanely cool to have a DLC or standalone spinoff game where you could play as an NCPD or MaxTac officer it'd be really cool to see night city from the other side of the law

I liked their black gear and the way they gone away with flipping nods and just made them part of their helmet it looks so cool
I forgot their name at first but watching them one shot some punks in the early game scene nailed how crazy powerful they were when it took a magazine of a shitty unity to kill a scav at first

Maxtac makes me think of a witcher in a way

I was thinking of an OC fanfiction who happened to be David's neighbour and gets along well with his mother. But after David returned his mother's remains home, my OC was made redundant by his Corpo Employer. He had no family left as his siblings and cousins betrayed him throughout his life. Now in his early 30s, he noticed David returned home after joining a gang and he joined David to meet Maine and the Edgerunners and his former Corpo experience gave them an edge and proved his worth. However, he's reluctant to install Cyberwear and only has the minimal cybernetics because he's scared of Cyberpsychosis.

After he learned about David had succumbed to Cyberpsychosis. He didn't care any more and asked David's Ripperdoc to Chrome him up to attempt to rescue David as he is like a brother to him and arrived at Arasaka HQ on time to face Adam Smasher but he was easy work for Adam and he asked Adam to set his brother free by carrying out his orders before Adam flatlined him.
