When You Tell Someone You're an Introvert

Sometimes when I tell people I'm 100% introvert they are surprised. I also used to be more shy and timid (I still am to some extend and sometimes) but I got used to engaging in conversations more. Some people don't understand that you don't stop being an introvert or what it actually means. Because even though I'm more used to it now doesn't mean it does not drain me or I'm not replaying conversations in my mind over and over again and overthink every little word that was said.

It takes to much energy an causes undo stress if you are not charged and ready for even a conversation. People think im lonely and press me for more interaction they dont understand im very seldom ever lonely and i do seek inter actions but on my terms. I remember as a kid being forced into situation i didnt want to participate in and i promised myself when i became an adult i would live my life true to making myself happy and that is exactely what i have done you can explain and explain but if thier not a true introvert they just dont get it. Im sure they think they are being helpfull and thier out to cure you by trying to push you into social situations they simply dont understand that all people arent exactely wired the same and oh what a boring place it would be if we were all the same.

People ask me why are you so mad or never talk. I'm like in my head like God why are you talking to me. I'm rarely ever mad. Sometimes I will just stare at the person. Make them uncomfortable. Squint eyes at them. I don't even bother saying anything.

To all the Extroverts out there, there are several types of Introverts. Frank made a video about that.

Some introverts are not even anxious and awkward while (and about) socializing. They can just prefer to be in their own company most of the time, for example.
