How To: Download+Install FFMPEG on Windows 10 | Full Guide

I don't have a PATH folder in my computer's drive, and I doubt making one would help much, though I tried anyway. Manually making a path folder named the same as yours, I followed the steps, but it still says ffmpeg isn't a recognized command, program, or batch file. How do I go about fixing this?

Jesus, I'm on Windows atm, and why does Windows suck so hard? If I were on an easy to use operating system like arch it would be as simple as like "sudo pacman -S ffmpeg," but windows just has to make you do it the hard way

works in cmd but not in audacity EDIT: i downloaded the wrong ffmpeg, had to search for a tutorial to download ffmpeg for audacity specifically, then it was easy

I did all according to tutorial, created a path to my downloaded bin folder and after I type command it says that it is "Not recognized as an internal or external command, operable command or batch file" is there something else it's need to be done?

PSA: Restart Windows after you are done with the instructions here. Searching for ffmpeg in cmd did not bring up any results for me until I did a restart.

prob'ly a dumb question but... why am I not getting sound with the dld?

What finally worked for me was adding a "New" item under "System" Envonronment Variables named "FFmpeg", then using the old DOS 8.3 naming convention for the "Program Files" folder in the path to the bin folder where I placed it (i.e. "C:\Progra~1\FFMPEG\bin"). Then suddenly it started working after dozens of previous failed attempts.

FFmpeg was downloading really slowly on my crappy internet so I went and took a nap while I waited for it to download. Woke up, went on to the next step of unzipping and moving and.... I see I already have FFmpeg in my C drive. 😅 So apparently at some point I downloaded it and didn't have a handy tutorial showing me how to install it. Thanks!

LMFAO, im reading all the comments and people are complaining that its not working... the dude explained it deadset 100% if you cant follow the video you need to assess yourselves XD

I followed everything he said to the letter, i made my own file names and everything, followed the instructions.... paused the video after each step to make sure i got it all and boom... working program (minus the fact i had to move it into another file location cause MC replay mod wouldnt render unless it was in the same .MC folder =P)

I've been searching up tutorials on how to download ffmpeg. I followed all the instructions in the videos yet I couldn't get it to work. Really good work, this helped me out! one issue I had is I was putting the folder in close range of my project folder under a user. It could be named anything you want but it doesn't work in any other locations afaik
