This video gives you some tips and advice on how to tackle 200km on a road bike. Join me on this epic ride through the heartland of the Western Cape / South Africa.
Here are some tips, based on my own experience:
TIP #1 - Train
I recommend 1000km as a base. Ideally, you should complete four or five 100km rides before you attempt 200km. The more km in your legs, the better.
TIP #2 - Plan
Pick a nice day - check the weather forecast
Plan enough time (10hrs & more) on 25km/h average speed
Choose your route wisely and upload to GPS computer / Google maps
TIP #3 - Prepare
Check bike / gearing...etc...
Take plenty of food & drinks (banana, sandwich, bars, gels)
Charge phone, camera, Di2
Wind & rain jacket
Sunglasses, sunscreen, glass cleaner
Spare parts (inner tube, tools, pump, Co2)
Lights
Now you should be ready to rock & roll guys.
Have you ever cycled 200km, or are you planning a big endurance tour?
Would love to know your thoughts.
Thanks for watching.
Cheers Ingo
