Hi Tim - this is Fil, founder of SoloDallas and maker of the Schaffer (Replica). Nice info there! Just wanted to let you and our friends know here that we don't only offer the "Tower" - we have a range of pedals for guitars and bass that supply the same character of the Tower - and therefore the original character of the Schaffer-Vega wireless - if you want to try one of our pedals just let us know! Thanks, Fil (pedals are priced around USD220, a more affordable price)
ОтветитьBack in the late 1970s, I was in high school and Ted Nugent was my idol. Well, Ted was coming to town, and the opening act was some unheard of band called AC/DC. I saved my money, got a ticket and went! I went to see Ted, but came away a brand new AC/DC fan. I still love Ted and he's a great guitarist, but AC/DC stole the show! I've seen them live about 25 times now! I have an SG and a Marshall. Long live Angus and the boys! 🤘
ОтветитьDude
ОтветитьThey're down to Earth because they're Aussies!
ОтветитьAC/DC are Scotland
ОтветитьWe all know what the pedals do , but it's the fingers that do the talking .
ОтветитьWhat I find amazing about Angus is with the amount of moving he does on stage how precise he plays. But I always think the secret weapon with Angus was his brother Malcolm and how they complimented each other perfectly. There are some amazing isolated tracks of some classic ACDC songs done live and to hear how the two brothers interplayed is incredible. The precision in Malcolm's playing is incredible.
ОтветитьMalcolm and Angus are very humble off the stage. In my opinion, the "reason" he gives for moving so much is just another example of his humble attitude. When he is actually playing though, he becomes a very aggressive player and is totally in charge of the instrument and the stage. His constant movement is just an expression of his extreme passion and abandonment into the music.
ОтветитьYet i like/rate Malcolm higher
Ответитьmate you got massive fingers what ya on about
ОтветитьI saw AC/DC in Upstate NY when they were an opening act for...I think it was Rush maybe? Apologies if I got that wrong. What a show.
ОтветитьReally Enjoyed the video. Thanks!
ОтветитьCool, cool, cool. Met Angus once on accident. Don't want to again. He...well = (words). He is about as tall as his guitar. Really didn't want to get punched by a midget. Mal was super cool. Have loved the band always. Thanks for the upload.
ОтветитьMalcom is widely considered the greatest rythem player riff writer of all times not by the press by the greatest guitarist in the world of like of yngvia malstien who calls him a giant Dave mustaine who says he is his favorite eddi on and on of the greatest most technical players in the world all consider him number 1 I never here them mention aungus anyway I think Malcom is the master of a catchy hook riff but not my favorite to many majors I would consider tony iommi the number riff masters the Youngs just use to much pentatonic and major keys I like tony his use of tri tone the first rock band to use still ac/dc are up there for greatest I just not a big pentatonic guy I love a great pent solo time to time but I like the sounds of minor harmonic 6 randy roads people like that
ОтветитьIs he w migit close to it
ОтветитьI learned to play the guitar in a Catholic Military School when I was 11 . That was back in 73 . I know enough to give someone a head ache I always said .
ОтветитьAwesome Tim🎸《☆》It's surprising how humble many of our Guitar Heros are👍🏾🍺🤳Good tip on picking softer. I noticed Gary Rossington frequently had a lit cigarette in his picking hand between his 2 middle fingers. That would require fairly soft picking to prevent knocking the fire off his cigarette. His 1976 live performance with LYNYRD☠SKYNYRD at Knebworth shows some of the blistering face melting tones his LesPaul was blasting out into the English audience✌😎☯️
ОтветитьTim that opening was Bad to the Bone 🎸 !!! Angus is unique and instantly identifiable. He's less melodic than you Tim, the word for Angus style that comes to mind is ATTACK. He attacks his solos 🔥🎸
Ответитьyour style blows. your string slide is ok.
Ответитьyeah there can be a need to play note for note. derp. how bout changing the melody too.
ОтветитьThat intro solo was MAGNIFICENT!
You gifted man.
Angus is one of the most humble yet ULTRA talented players that this earth has EVER seen.
They came from. ‘ the gorbalals ‘in Glasgow. Worst area( back then)
Great guitar star END.
Tim great work here Thank you!!
ОтветитьI’ve seen many of Angus live sets on vids and he has to be possessed to play guitar at that level and be that physical on stage , crazy human energy and endurance… not one mistake , perfect timing and emotional as you can get ! Call me crazy that’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it .
ОтветитьAC / DC is the hardest working band in rock and roll and the band always has been.
ОтветитьWhat a intro.
ОтветитьHorrible satanic band. I was unimpressed in their beginning, and still unimpressed. Just horrible music and lyrics.
ОтветитьWhat song does the intro solo belong to? It’s amazing.
Love your uploads. Thanks.
I just love Angus. Absolutely wonderful guy.
Probably one of the greatest guitarists that has walked on this earth. 🇬🇧👍🇬🇧👍
Tim, I’m now playing a set of 8s in the first 3 strings and the the last 3; a 26, 36 & 46. I was in the hospital for for 17 weeks and had to learn how to walk and had a paralyzed pick hand… so I went from 10 to 46, 8-46. It’s fine.
ОтветитьIt's lighter than a loaded M-16.
ОтветитьI've read that Malcolm, the older one, was born in Scotland and Angus was born in Australia.🤔
ОтветитьI got a tab book but first song by jimmy Hendrix there a cord high e 5 fret then the a 10 fret I can’t reach and I’m 5,11 me ex said I have small hands
ОтветитьSaw them on Those about to Rock tour, Glasgow Apollo 1981. MEMORIES 🌠
ОтветитьI am 75. I hope when I die and reborne I have 1 percent of your talent.
ОтветитьSeen them four times live. Still my favourite over the last forty years.
ОтветитьSounds like Tim needs an sg 🤔
ОтветитьI am from Sydney and saw AC/DC before they became famous. In some of the venues you had to bend your sound around some very tight corner. They were great at this.
ОтветитьSg feels cheap and Les Paul feels like a 2x4. Gibson would be my last choice in guitars. Jackson and Ibanez are the best for shredding, IMO. But, AC/DC are still kings of the basic rock/blues genre.
ОтветитьI understand how he feels about small fingers. I'm a pianist and percussionist who can pretty much play anything.... except Scott Joplin. The fingers need to have a long reach to play his music and I unfortunately have smaller hands.
ОтветитьACDC are around so long, they went from unknown to popular what, 3 or 4 times? (Well...after unknown they climbed back up from obscurity I guess)
Their music is almost instantly recognisable...and frankly way to underestimated.
For me they are among those who's music will go down in history because it's timeless.....
Before me, my older uncles listened to it during the 70's, In the 80's and 90's I listened to it and saw them performing live....now my 17 year old and her friends listen to it.....
It's like Maiden, van Halen, Metallica etc etc....at the end of the day, it's just ffing great music. 🤟🏻
You are a great guitarist
ОтветитьJerry Cantrell called Angus ,”the absolute God of blues rock”… agreed!
ОтветитьI didn’t know Gene Hackman played guitar so well.
ОтветитьBack in Black was the very first Album I bought for myself as a young teenager in 1980. Been a Rocker ever since.
ОтветитьWhy did The ACDC guy wear that little suit with shorts? I never liked ACDC
ОтветитьWhat a guy
ОтветитьAngus has a very soft touch, Malcolm was a hard hitter.
ОтветитьTheir music brought me in, reading their story made me a life-long fan.
