I would have used a solid heavy foam sphere and hot glued cat scratching rope to it after putting the pipe through it and it would have been perfect and super cheap.

OMG katelyn is so good at editing but she never takes any credit! it is so hard to edit and i think she should get more credit for it

I think the only difference is the buy one is sisal rope. If you got some sisal rope and wrapped the make one with it she may be more interested in it? Sisal is cheap to buy but it is a pain in the neck to put up because it's itchy. But cats love it.

I really like this video, but I don’t really think it’s fair to call it a $10 project when you used thousands of dollars worth of equipment to make it.

The toy is meant to be small so they can spin and paw at it easier while laying down or swat at it from top😊

I feel like cats either really appreciate the smallest things or don’t care at all. We’ve had two long boxes taped together in our living room like a tunnel for our young cat for almost a year. We realize we should explain to guests why we literally have trash in our living room at all times.

I think this one would also depend on the cat. My cat constantly needs new things to explore and play with, so he might do better with this than your cat did… I wanna try it. 😂
All the various cat hiding places and perches I’ve made out of cardboard flats for him… most are just wedged together, so it’s fairly easy to vary the setup. I use more secure methods for perches than hiding places.

I LOVE the out come because that is how Cats DO, buy them something to claw up won't touch it EVERYTHING else they will shred it until it is trash and they reason is they like trash better XD

Some suggestions to get joobie to understand what she is meant to do, there are three ways, first, you use the object, you scratch at it, make it spin, really go ar it like you needed the nailfile badly, if she doesn't figure it out afterwards, pick her up, put her back legs on the ground and front legs on the sphere and let her down, you're going to just let her fall because she will see how her claws get stick in it and go "oh right, cardboard, this is for my claws" if she doesn't get it after being put on it, you go behind her, grab her front paws, squidge the beans so the murder mitts come out. And physically use her paws to scratch it for her. If after all that she still doesn't get it, either she doesn't like it or she needs another turn with the last remaining brain cell

My advice is to make it taller/ further from the ground. Cats like a good stretch when they scratch.

I love that you show the truth of cat toys. My cat will always love an empty box and a twist tie more than anything I've ever gotten her.

I feel like you guys need to get a dog. You can have a cat to be cute and a dog that will be curious in the things you make for it.

Elmers spray glue is pretty good! And wouldn’t add thickness like the hot glue did. Still looks awesome! Y’all are way more patient than I am if I had a laser I would have cheated.
