Female soldiers did fight for every country in ww2, however, there were very few of them and 99.9% of the soldiers were indeed males.

However the fact why Misaki does suck is the fact that she can fight for I believe any axis? And it does make sense that in a game in pacific war there is 1 female soldier. What doesn't make sense is when you fight for Berlin and there is a line of Japanese women dressed in Japanese army outfit fighting for Germans.
Thus what I believe is that acknowledging there were females in ww2 is not a bad thing, but if they want to implement them, I don't really care about fighting against line of female soldiers in pacific as long as they don't have those super revealing uniforms some games like to implement. And as long as they don't put the Japanese females into German fronts. Or any other than Japanese
