Understanding Tensor Calculus | What is the Torsion Tensor?

IMPORTANT NOTE: I want to emphasize that the picture that I am using to depict the torsion should only be taken at face value. This is only to show that the covariant derivative and the Lie derivative are two different things. A better way to conceptualize the torsion will become more complete when we dive more into the differential geometry and Einstein-Cartan Theory.

In this video we cover the torsion tensor along with the Lie derivative. The torsion tensor is extremely important in understanding intrinsic properties of a curve. This is a stepping stone to understanding the Riemann Curvature Tensor.
