Thank you all for coming and hanging out with me for the finale of Tomb of Annihilation! The trailer for the next campaign will drop April 2nd (no, it won't be a troll). The start of the next series will happen April 16th to give me time to get started on the correct footing!

Actually, destroying phylacteries doesn't reduce their owner liches to 0 Hp. It just means they are vulnerable to perma-death, should something else happen to make them hit 0 Hp before they've built and inhabited replacement phylacteries. Which they can do in a reasonably short time, presuming access to the kind of resources even a middle of the pack lich has stashed in it's every-day-carry bag of holding. Always thought it should be a bigger deal but no. You better off stealing a phylactery, so you can finish things up after blasting bozo's bony backside the normal way.
